Nonlinear Effects of the Digital Economy on Urban-Rural Factor Mobility: A Hybrid Econometric-Machine Learning Approach
Approaching Crime Information from Major National Social Surveys in China: A Comprehensive Review of Their Value and Utility for Criminological Research
Understanding and addressing issues of victimization, public safety, and crime requires accurate and comprehensive survey data. However, China currently lacks systematic, nationally representative surveys specifically designed for criminological research. This study systematically reviews six major social surveys: the Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS), China Family Panel Studies (CFPS), Chinese Social Survey (CSS), China Labor-force Dynamics S…
Leveraging the adaptive cycle framework to unravel the dynamics and governance of cultivated land green use in China
Predictors of home- vs . facility-based delivery among women living in rural Niger: A cross-sectional survey within the Avenir cluster-randomised trial
Background: Niger has one of the highest maternal mortality rates, and facility delivery can help prevent these deaths. While distance to health facilities predicts home delivery in other sub-Saharan African settings, few studies have examined this relationship in Niger. Methods: This cross-sectional survey, an ancillary study to the AVENIR trial, included women aged 12-59 years old with a child participating in a sub-trial of AVENIR. Trained wor…
Promoting urban–rural equality: The impact of government digital transformation on public service equality through fiscal decentralization
How the one-child policy reshaped rural elderly care: Evidence from a fuzzy regression discontinuity design
Using 2018 CHARLS data, this study employs a fuzzy regression discontinuity design to examine the effects of the one-child policy on the accessibility of community home-based elderly care service in rural communities. The findings reveal that the one-child policy has weakened the traditional family-based care system through mechanisms such as promoting non-multigenerational living arrangements and reducing the likelihood of male offspring. Conseq…
Can Artificial Intelligence Technology Help Achieving Good Governance: A Public Policy Evaluation Method Based on Artificial Neural Network
Addressing the challenge of accurately evaluating public policy performance in response to citizens’ diverse needs remains a significant issue in governance. Traditional methods of public policy evaluation often lack responsiveness and precision, hindering the ability of governments to achieve good governance. The introduction of a public satisfaction index into policy evaluations can drive governments to proactively address these challenges. Thi…
Abnormal static and dynamic functional connectivity of striatal subregions in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder
Our study reveals disrupted RSFC and DFC between the striatal subregions and widespread brain regions in OCD patients. The findings highlight the role of the striatum in the neuropathology of OCD at a refined anatomical level and support the CSTC model in OCD
Low-dose intravenous esketamine on a depressive catatonia patient with venous thromboembolism: A case report
As a safe and rapid intervention, Esketamine might be a new option for catatonic patients who cannot undergo MECT or fail to respond to conventional treatment. It may be worthy of further research in the future
Testing the law of crime concentration in China: Do transportation networks matter
Analyzing the efficiency of Chinese primary healthcare institutions using the Malmquist-DEA approach: Evidence from urban and rural areas
Background: China has been increasing the investment in Primary Health Care Institutions (PHCIs) since the launch of the New Health Care System Reform in 2009. It is a crucial concern whether the PHCIs can meet residents' need both in urban and rural with the limited government finance, especially encountering the challenge of the COVID-19. This study aimed to reveal the trend of the primary health service efficiency in the past decade, compare t…
Comparison of door-to-door and fixed-point delivery of azithromycin distribution for child survival in Niger: A cluster-randomized trial
Recent evidence indicates mass azithromycin distribution reduces under-5 mortality. This intervention is being considered for child survival programs in high mortality sub-Saharan African settings. The delivery approach used in prior studies required a full-time census and distribution team, which is not feasible for most programs. To determine the optimal programmatic approach to delivery, this study aimed to compare treatment coverage, costs, a…
Tiao-bu-fei-shen formula promotes downregulation of the caveolin 1-p38 mapk signaling pathway in COPD - Associated tracheobronchomalacia cell model
A concentration of 10 ng/mL of IL-1β can generate a stable COPD-associated TBM cell model. TBFS can improve the proteoglycan and type II collagen content, increase cell activity, and reduce the amount of chondrocyte apoptosis. The role of TBFS may be related to mechanisms of inhibiting the expression of the key signaling molecules caveolin 1 and p-p38 MAPK in the caveolin 1-p38 MAPK signaling pathway, thereby reducing the expression of the downst…
Age-based targeting of biannual azithromycin distribution for child survival in Niger: An adaptive cluster-randomized trial protocol (Avenir)
