  • Validity and reliability of the German versions of the CD-Risc-10 and CD-Risc-2

    Open Access•Anna Wollny, Ingo Jacobs•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2023

The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) is an established instrument to assess trait resilience. The present study investigates the psychometric properties of the brief German CD-RISC-10 and CD-RISC-2 in an online sample of 360 students. The CD-RISC-10 showed good reliability, whereas the CD-RISC-2 just missed an acceptable level of reliability. The unifactorial structure of the CD-RISC-10 was supported in a confirmatory factor analysis. C…

  • Personal values, trait emotional intelligence, and mental health problems

Open Access•Ingo Jacobs, Anna Wollny•ARTICLE•Scandinavian Journal of Psychology•2022

Personal values and personality traits are related yet distinguishable constructs linked to mental health. The present study extends the current literature on personal values and personality traits by investigating the associations between the higher‐order dimensions of personal values (i.e., general values factor, conservation, and self‐transcendence), trait emotional intelligence (TEI), and mental health problems (i.e., depressive, anxiety, and…

  • A trait emotional intelligence perspective on schema modes

Open Access•Ingo Jacobs, Anna Wollny et al.•ARTICLE•Scandinavian Journal of Psychology•2021

Schema modes (or modes ) are a key concept in the theory underlying schema therapy. Modes have rarely been related to established models of personality traits. The present study thus investigates the associations between trait emotional intelligence ( TEI ) and 14 modes, and tests a global TEI–mode factors–general psychological distress mediation model. The study draws on self‐report data from 173 inpatients from a German clinic for psychosomatic…

  • Validity, Reliability, and Factor Structure of the Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale-French Version

Open Access•Ingo Jacobs, Marion Charmillot et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2019

Secondary traumatic stress ( STS ) is a syndrome including intrusion, avoidance, and arousal due to indirect trauma exposure (e.g., by caring for traumatized patients in a professional context or transgenerational transmission of trauma in familial or cultural systems). Bride et al. (1) developed the Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale ( STSS ), designed to measure these reactions of helping professionals who have experienced traumatic stress throug…

  • Reliability of Circumplex Axes

    Open Access•Micha Strack, Ingo Jacobs et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2013•Cited by: 1•References: 38

We present a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) procedure for computing the reliability of circumplex axes. The tau-equivalent CFA variance decomposition model estimates five variance components: general factor, axes, scale-specificity, block-specificity, and item-specificity. Only the axes variance component is used for reliability estimation. We apply the model to six circumplex types and 13 instruments assessing interpersonal and motivational …
