  • Beyond the algorithm

    Open Access•Fei Song, Julian Savulescu et al.•ARTICLE•AI & Society•2026

In this paper, we present an overview of the main conceptual framework for trustworthy AI and argue that the network account offers a superior alternative. We identify and illustrate the possible nodes within an AI network, specify the key attributes each node should possess, and clarify what constitutes a sufficient threshold for each attribute. Building on this foundation, we introduce a novel framework for the network account of trustworthy AI…

  • Task Value Beliefs and Self‐Efficacy in Adolescent English as a Foreign Language Learners

Open Access•Min Ding, Boyan Li et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Applied…•2025•References: 11

Task value beliefs, a central motivational factor, are pivotal to academic outcomes among English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners. This study employed a complementary design that integrated variable‐ and person‐centered approaches to examine the relationship between EFL task value beliefs, including attainment, utility, and intrinsic values, and EFL self‐efficacy. We also sought to explore potentially heterogeneous subgroups of EFL task value …

  • The double-edged sword effects of algorithmic opacity

    Open Access•Chunhong Guo, Huifang Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2025•References: 7

Algorithmic opacity is mainly regarded as a disruptive feature. Although the literature suggests that algorithmic opacity improves efficiency, we need a thorough understanding of the contexts in which algorithmic opacity enhances efficiency and the behavioral responses that employees will have. The purpose of this study is to address this research gap. We construct structural equation models using data from 421 full-time employees interacting wit…

  • Effect of different perioperative music interventions on anxiety and blood pressure levels during intravitreal injections

Open Access•Fei Song, Fuyan Song et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2025

Among the Chinese population, both binaural beats and Chinese music were found to significantly reduce anxiety levels in patients receiving IVIs. Furthermore, the binaural beats group exhibited a decrease in systolic blood pressure during and after the procedure. Music therapy may be potentially advantageous for improving the perioperative period of IVIs in patients. In the future, the combined magic of music therapy and ophthalmic surgery should…

  • Moral judgments under uncertainty

Open Access•Fei Song, Yiyun Shou et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2024

Previous research on moral dilemmas has mainly focused on decisions made under conditions of probabilistic certainty. We investigated the impact of uncertainty on the preference for action (killing one individual to save five people) and inaction (saving one but allowing five people to die) in moral dilemmas. We reported two experimental studies that varied the framing (gain vs loss), levels of risk (probability of gain and loss) and levels of am…

    Open Access•Fei Song, Felix S H Yeung•ARTICLE•AI & Society•2024

  • Change in the sustainability of regional agricultural systems

Open Access•Fei Song, Haoyu Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2024

In the context of rapid population growth and limited arable land resources, the agricultural system has to provide enough food in a sustainable way. Regional agricultural systems have good consistency in agricultural practices, management decisions, social economy, and climate, which is of great significance in ensuring food security. In this study, emergy analysis and the logarithmic mean divisia index method were integrated to construct an eva…

  • The global burden of traumatic amputation in 204 countries and territories

Open Access•Bei Yuan, Dan Hu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

  • The epidemiological characteristic and trends of burns globally

Open Access•Aobuliaximu Yakupu, Jie Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2022

Globally, the age-standardized rates of burn incidence, DALYs, and mortality, as well as the number of burn DALYs and death cases will continuously decrease, but the number of new burn cases has an increasing tendency globally. In addition, the EAPCs of burns in incidence, DALYs, and deaths indicated that the burden of burns was considered to be decreasing in most of the regions. And from the relationship of EAPCs with SDI, UHC index, and GDP, in…

    Open Access•Lingming Chen, Salamun Rashidin et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2021•Cited by: 3•References: 69

Despite the booming market of fresh food, the fresh e-commerce platform holds only a limited market share, owing to the lack of habitual usage of these platforms. This article explores the determinants of purchase intention when using a fresh e-commerce platform. The integrated technology acceptance model (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology [UTAUT]) is employed as the framework. A questionnaire survey was conducted and is analyzed…

  • On the Establishment of Database of Morpheme Meaning Annotations for Modern Chinese Compounds

Open Access•Yu Xu, Weiqi Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Language Teaching and…•2020

This research establishes Database of Morpheme Meaning Annotations for Compounds, and statistically analyses the using frequency of morphemes and their meanings in the database. The research shows that the using frequency of “zi” (子) and “er” (儿) is the highest, and their meanings with the highest using frequency are applied when the morphemes are affixes. Among various meanings of one morpheme, only one meaning would be applied with high frequen…

  • Identifying and Classifying Pollution Hotspots to Guide Watershed Management in a Large Multiuse Watershed

Open Access•Fangli Su, David Kaplan et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2017

In many locations around the globe, large reservoir sustainability is threatened by land use change and direct pollution loading from the upstream watershed. However, the size and complexity of upstream basins makes the planning and implementation of watershed-scale pollution management a challenge. In this study, we established an evaluation system based on 17 factors, representing the potential point and non-point source pollutants and the envi…
