Tracing the environmental risk transmission pathway of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from vehicle exhaust
Navigating Power and Passion
Despite growing research on English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers’ researcher identity, limited attention has been paid to how this identity develops within culturally embedded power relations. Drawing on a model of teacher identity work, this narrative inquiry explores how a mid‐career EFL teacher constructed and negotiated her researcher identity amid global performativity discourses and local cultural values. Relying on data from interv…
Boosting productivity and wellbeing through time management
Introduction Amid increasing academic and professional pressures, time management is widely acknowledged as essential for supporting students' and professionals' well-being, motivation, and performance. However, despite general agreement on its benefits, there remains limited clarity about which specific time management strategies are most effective, particularly in the context of higher education and workforce development. Compounding this issue…
Modeling the infection risk and emergency evacuation under the influence of multiple factors for large-scale urban bioaerosol leakage
Strategic shifts
Background In studio art, students are expected to be highly agentive—to engage in creative processes to form personalized representations of ideas, yet we lack knowledge on how teachers support their agency. Approaching agency as co-constructed practices across temporal dimensions, we examine how teachers shift between autonomy-supportive and directive approaches, building students’ artistic agency. Methods Secondary qualitative analysis of video…

The Effect of Color on Letter Discrimination Can Be Modulated by the Global/Local Processing and Attention Level
This study explored whether the color of letters could influence letter discrimination task performances and whether this effect of color could be modulated by processing level (global vs. local) and attention level of color (color-attended vs. color-unattended). We used the Navon letters in red, green, or white as stimuli at a relatively small (Experiment 1) or large visual angle (Experiments 2, 3, and 4). Each experiment included two tasks: col…

Do Wet-Dry Ratio and Fe-Mn System Affect Oxidation-Reduction Potential Nonlinearly in the Subsurface Wastewater Infiltration Systems
To understand characteristics of on-line oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) in a subsurface wastewater infiltration system (SWIS) under different intermittent influent conditions, ORP among five matrix depths at wet-dry ratios (R wd s) of 2:1, 1:1 and 1:2 with a hydraulic load of 0.10 m3·(m2·d) -1 were monitored. Results showed that the optimal R wd for the SWIS was 1:1. In that case, ORP at 40 and 65 cm depths changed significantly, by 529 mV a…
