Remote sensing for urban energy systems: Bridging Earth Observation with urban-scale energy modeling
The anti-marriage turn: Economic precarity and racialized grievance in the Chinese manosphere
In the context of a global resurgence in right-wing movements, this paper investigates how economic precarity becomes reconfigured into gendered and racialized grievance within the Chinese manosphere. Whilst misogynistic discourses have historically championed the traditional family, a distinctly anti-marriage feeling has recently emerged amongst some Chinese men. We frame this as a reaction to a cost-of-living crisis and the erosion of men’s sup…
Applying cross-modal plasticity principles in auditory training applications
Research indicates that a significant number of individuals are in a suboptimal auditory health state , yet their auditory function can potentially be improved through auditory training. To raise awareness of auditory health issues, auditory training apps should provide effective yet accessible training methods alongside engaging mechanisms that motivate users to adopt and sustain auditory training habits, ultimately facilitating self-directed au…
Interdependence and coordination challenges: EV charging infrastructure and carbon emissions in the Yangtze River Delta
The ambition towards net-zero emission fuels the significance of electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) as a strategic asset. Yet, a conspicuous gap remains in the comprehensive quantitative analysis of its impact on carbon emissions stemming from fossil fuel combustion, referred to as ODIAC-CE. This study embarks on a longitudinal comparison of EVCI and ODIAC-CE data in 2018 and 2020, further classifying cities by scale to analyze the a…

Netnography of online feminist discourse, including observation of 23 influential feminist accounts on Weibo and 10 semi-structured interviews with…
Phosphate Removal Mechanisms in Aqueous Solutions by Three Different Fe-Modified Biochars
Iron-modified biochar can be used as an environmentally friendly adsorbent to remove the phosphate in wastewater because of its low cost. In this study, Fe-containing materials, such as zero-valent iron (ZVI), goethite, and magnetite, were successfully loaded on biochar. The phosphate adsorption mechanisms of the three Fe-modified biochars were studied and compared. Different characterization methods, including scanning electron microscopy/energy…
