This article examines the effects of self‐efficacy on citizen participation (N = 250) in neighborhood councils in Tehran, Iran. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the effects of self‐efficacy on citizen participation. Results strongly supported the reliability and validity of the survey instrument.
