Open Access•Julian Bolleter, Nicole Edwards et al.•ARTICLE•Cities•2024•Cited by: 1•References: 22

Transit Oriented Development (TOD) within existing urban areas often confronts entrenched community resistance. Open Access•Sergio Fernandez, Robert Cameron et al.•ARTICLE•Administration & Society•2023•References: 47

Representative bureaucracy and workforce diversity have become central topics in the field of public administration. This study seeks to provide analytical clarity by outlining and comparing the various conceptual definitions of representation and diversity. We also explain the causal logic of how representation and diversity influe…

  • Implications of the Covid-19 Pandemic: Canvassing Opinion from Planning Professionals

Julian Bolleter, Nicole Edwards et al.•ARTICLE•Planning Practice and Research•2022

By the end of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic had exceeded 83 million cases worldwide. Given the shared origins of planning and public health, new living and social conditions have prompted an interest in how urban planning could respond to the pandemic’s associated implications. In 2020, a national online survey Plan My Australia was conducted among planning experts (n = 161), in part, to identify new challenges facing urban planning and design due …

Julian Bolleter, Robert Freestone et al.•ARTICLE•Planning Perspectives•2021

From 1973 to 1975 a new Australian Government led by Gough Whitlam actively pursued plans to develop regional and sub-metropolitan Growth Centres with significantly boosted populations following a national strategy published in June 1973 which mapped a national coverage of prospective locations. The intention was for these centres to alleviate pressure on the capital cities considered overcrowded and deteriorating in efficiency and quality of lif…

  • An Investigation of the General Population’s Self-Reported Hand Hygiene Behaviour and Compliance in a Cross-European Setting

    Open Access•Aaron Lawson, Marie Vaganay-Miller et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

Every year, thousands of people from the UK travel to other countries for work and leisure. Europe, and particularly Spain, is one of the most popular travel destinations for people from the UK. However, it is known that travel to other countries can enhance the risk of communicable disease transmission from person to person, especially when a new one emerges. Adequate hand hygiene behaviour and compliance is widely accepted as being a simple, ef…

Open Access•Aaron Lawson, Robert Cameron et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

Inadequate HH behaviour and compliance may have added significantly to the rapid rate of spread of COVID-19 in the initial weeks of the pandemic in NI. Current public health campaigns do not appear, based on this study, to have the desired impact and may need to be reviewed or re-enforced in order to achieve the levels of hand hygiene compliance required to slow the spread of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases in the future

Open Access•Robert Cameron, Robert John Cameron et al.•ARTICLE•The British Journal of Social Work•2019•References: 10

Children and young people in public care have long been recognised as a particularly vulnerable group in our society. Many have complex personal, inter-personal and educational needs as a result of pre-care maltreatment. Despite a number of initiatives to change the often negative outcomes for these children, results have remained stubbornly disappointing. The model of professional childcare, rooted in psychological research and theory, was desig…
