  • Assessing regional innovation resilience within China's city networks under Covid-19

Open Access•Haitao Ma, Xia Hu et al.•ARTICLE•Cities•2026•References: 91

  • Understanding the resilience of intercity innovation networks

Open Access•Xia Hu, Xiaqing Hu et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2025

While resilience and innovation are identified as two pivotal attributes for achieving regional sustainable development, regional innovation itself currently faces increasing challenges in a world marked by uncertainty. Intercity innovation networks, built on collaborative efforts between cities, enable regions to harness collective strength and strengthen their capacity to withstand external shocks, thereby fostering more resilient regional inno…

  • Professional content analysis and quality assessment of cardiopulmonary resuscitation educational videos on social media platforms

Open Access•Chuanliang Pan, Luping Cheng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Background: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency medical procedure designed to restore circulation and respiratory function in patients who have suffered cardiac arrest. This study aimed to comprehensively analyze the upload sources, content characteristics, and video quality of CPR-related videos on YouTube, Bilibili, and TikTok, with a view to providing a reference for improving public first aid awareness and skills. Methods: In …

  • Running on empty

    Open Access•Xuefeng Wu, Xia Hu et al.•ARTICLE•Energy Research & Social Science•2025•References: 13

Energy poverty has garnered increasing scholarly attention due to its profound implications for general well-being. However, its influence on work–life balance, a critical yet often overlooked dimension of well-being, remains insufficiently examined. This study examines how energy poverty impacts work-life balance, utilising a longitudinal dataset comprising 19 waves (2005–2023) of Australia's dynamic labour force. Grounded in the Conservation of…

  • Parental autonomy support effects on children’s school adjustment

Open Access•Xia Hu, Zhu Li et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Psychology in Africa•2025•References: 23

This longitudinal study examined the association between parental autonomy support and school-aged children’s adjustment across four major domains of school functioning, as well as the mediating role of children’s executi... | Find, read and cite all the research you need on Tech Science Press

  • Alpine SOC and Microbial Community Assembly Were Buffered Through Soil Pore Structure Along an Altitudinal Gradient

Open Access•Ruizhe Wang, Xia Hu et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2024

Elevation changes influence various environmental factors including cloudiness, atmospheric density, and temperature. Previous studies on the effects of elevation on microbial communities and soil organic carbon (SOC) yielded inconsistent results. This study tried to reveal the distribution patterns of microbial communities and SOC concentrations, as well as their interactions with soil structure along an elevational gradient in the alpine region…

  • Predicting land use change around railway stations

Open Access•Fei Fu, Xia Jia et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2024

  • How does digital economy affect urban-rural integration? An empirical study from China

    Open Access•Xuewei Zhang, Chuanglin Fang et al.•ARTICLE•Habitat International•2024•Cited by: 8•References: 55

  • Understanding Social Biases Behind Location Names in Contextual Word Embedding Models

Open Access•Fangsheng Wu, Mengnan Du et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2022

Embeddings of textual data containing location names (e.g., social media posts) have essential applications in various contexts such as marketing and disaster management. In these downstream implementations, social biases behind location names are highly prone to introduce unfair results through their embeddings; for example, emergent text messages with swapped location names might result in varied rescue responses. Hence, it is critical to addre…

  • Neural Collaborative Filtering

Open Access•Xiangnan He, Lizi Liao et al.•CONFERENCE•Proceedings of the 26th…•2017

In recent years, deep neural networks have yielded immense success on speech recognition, computer vision and natural language processing. However, the exploration of deep neural networks on recommender systems has received relatively less scrutiny. In this work, we strive to develop techniques based on neural networks to tackle the key problem in recommendation --- collaborative filtering --- on the basis of implicit feedback.

  • Beck Hopelessness Scale

    Wenchao Zhang, Wen-Chao Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Death Studies•2015

The authors recruited 401 suicide attempters from general hospitals and 409 matched non-attempters to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS) in rural China. All participants completed the BHS, Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D), and Trait Anxiety Inventory (TAI). Suicide attempters had higher BHS scores than non-attempters. Cronbach's alpha coefficients were satisfactory and BHS scores sig…
