Person-Centered Leadership for Nonprofit Organizations
This work presents a case study of the leadership philosophy and day to day operations of an award-winning social service organization that targets youth and their families while successfully using person-centred strategies as the management model. Research findings provide an alternate approach to understanding the boundaries between therapy and case-related self-awareness. It is suggested that the ambiguities which …
The quality of community and the quality of life
Most research relating objective indicators of the quality of environment to subjective indicators of the quality of life has failed to find a relationship between the two. This research, by using community data, establishes an association between the local environment and perceived life quality, and in doing so, provides empirical support for focusing on local as welt as national investigations of life quality
Distress in Fatally and Chronically Ill Children
This report concerns the important empirical question of measuring distress experienced by a child while coming to terms with his or her own life-threatening illness. Nineteen fatally and chronically ill outpatient children were assessed in seven areas of personality functioning with seven different measurement methods. Inspection of the multitrait-multimethod correlation matrix indicates: that there are important differences in measures of distr…
