  • Silenced? Does social-media real-name registration policy facilitate firm misconduct? Evidence from greenwashing in China

Open Access•Chao Yuan, Junming Li et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2026

Removing anonymity in social media may stimulate firm misconduct as it reduces social media’s monitoring effects. This paper employs China’s 2015 social media real-name registration policy as a quasi-natural experiment that requires internet users to register their real ID with the government. Results indicate that the policy caused a robust and economically meaningful increase in corporate greenwashing which is a classical misconduct. Results ar…

  • Environmental particulate matter—one of the culprits in the development of caries

Open Access•Wenxin Du, Ruxia Hou et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

With the development of society, ecological and environmental problems have gradually become the focus of attention of countries around the world, among which environmental particulate matter poses a major harm to health. This article elucidates the association between environmental particulate matter and dental caries and provides new insights into the underlying mechanisms. In addition, this study emphasizes the role of oxidative stress in the …

  • Rhamnogalacturonan-I enriched pectin from steamed ginseng ameliorates lipid metabolism in type 2 diabetic rats via gut microbiota and AMPK pathway

Open Access•Ting Ren, Furao Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2023

The regulation effects of GPS-1 on lipid metabolism in T2DM rats are related to the regulation of gut microbiota and activation of AMP-activated protein kinase pathway

  • Spatiotemporal Evolution and Drivers of Total Health Expenditure across Mainland China in Recent Years

    Open Access•Junming Li, Xiulan Han•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

A substantially growing health expenditure has become an important global issue. Thus, how and why health expenditure is rising should be urgently investigated in systematic research. The Bayesian space-time model and the Bayesian least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) model were employed in this study to investigate the spatiotemporal trends and influence patterns of total health expenditure per capita (THEPC) and total health e…

  • Spatial Pattern and Spillover of Abatement Effect of Chinese Environmental Protection Tax Law on PM2.5 Pollution

    Open Access•Fei Han, Junming Li•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Particulate matter (PM2.5) pollution is a threat to public health, and environmental taxation is an important regulatory mode controlling PM2.5 pollution. In 2018, China implemented the Environmental Protection Tax Law (EPTL) targeting PM2.5 pollution. Based on in-situ monitoring and emission inventory data, a Bayesian hierarchical spatiotemporal model combining a two-period trends difference method was employed to measure the abatement effects o…

  • Determinant Powers of Socioeconomic Factors and Their Interactive Impacts on Particulate Matter Pollution in North China

Open Access•Xiangxue Zhang, Yue Lin et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

Severe air pollution has significantly impacted climate and human health worldwide. In this study, global and local Moran's I was used to examine the spatial autocorrelation of PM 2.5 pollution in North China from 2000-2017, using data obtained from Atmospheric Composition Analysis Group of Dalhousie University. The determinant powers and their interactive effects of socioeconomic factors on this pollutant are then quantified using a non-linear m…

  • Spatiotemporal matching between medical resources and population ageing in China from 2008 to 2017

Open Access•Junming Li, Xinglin Chen et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2020

The spatial and temporal matching degrees between the PAR and NMRTR in mainland China were generally very low. The provincial regions with high PAR largely experienced relatively low spatial matching levels between the PAR and NMRTR, and vice versa. The geographical pattern of the temporal matching between the PAR and NMRTR exhibited the feature of north-south differentiation

  • Spatiotemporal trends and influence factors of global diabetes prevalence in recent years

    Open Access•Junming Li, Sixian Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Social Science & Medicine•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 59

  • Exploring Spatial Influence of Remotely Sensed PM2.5 Concentration Using a Developed Deep Convolutional Neural Network Model

Open Access•Junming Li, Meijun Jin et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

Currently, more and more remotely sensed data are being accumulated, and the spatial analysis methods for remotely sensed data, especially big data, are desiderating innovation. A deep convolutional network (CNN) model is proposed in this paper for exploiting the spatial influence feature in remotely sensed data. The method was applied in investigating the magnitude of the spatial influence of four factors-population, gross domestic product (GDP)…

  • Spatiotemporal evolution of global population ageing from 1960 to 2017

Open Access•Junming Li, Xiulan Han et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2019

The differentiation of global population ageing is becoming increasingly serious. Globally, all 195 areas showed an increasing local ageing trend in absolute terms, although there were 44 low-ageing areas that experienced a decreasing local trend of ageing rate. The statistical results may provide some baseline reference for developing public health policies in various countries or regions, especially in less-developed areas

  • Spatiotemporal Patterns of Ground Monitored PM2.5 Concentrations in China in Recent Years

Open Access•Junming Li, Xiulan Han et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2018

This paper firstly explores the space-time evolution of city-level PM 2.5 concentrations showed a very significant seasonal cycle type fluctuation during the period between 13 May 2014 and 30 May 2017. The period from October to April following each year was a heavy pollution period, whereas the phase from April to October of the current year was part of a light pollution period. The average monthly PM 2.5 concentrations in mainland China based o…

  • Exploring Spatial Trends and Influencing Factors for Gastric Cancer Based on Bayesian Statistics: A Case Study of Shanxi, China

Open Access•Gehong Zhang, Junming Li et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2018

Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth most common type of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. To detect the spatial trends of GC risk based on hospital-diagnosed patients, this study presented a selection probability model and integrated it into the Bayesian spatial statistical model. Then, the spatial pattern of GC risk in Shanxi Province in north central China was estimated. In addition, factors influencing GC we…

  • Spatiotemporal evolution of Chinese ageing from 1992 to 2015 based on an improved Bayesian space-time model

Open Access•Xiulan Han, Junming Li et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2018

Considering developments over the past 24 years, it has been determined that the areas of the Chinese mainland that are experiencing the highest levels of growth in ageing populations are the two central provinces, which are connected to seven eastern provinces and five southwestern provinces. High ageing areas are not only concentrated in the eastern provinces, but also include Sichuan and Chongqing in the southwest region and Hubei and Hunan of…

  • Spatiotemporal Variability of Remotely Sensed PM2.5 Concentrations in China from 1998 to 2014 Based on a Bayesian Hierarchy Model

Open Access•Junming Li, Jinping Li et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2016

With the rapid industrial development and urbanization in China over the past three decades, PM2.5 pollution has become a severe environmental problem that threatens public health. Due to its unbalanced development and intrinsic topography features, the distribution of PM2.5 concentrations over China is spatially heterogeneous. In this study, we explore the spatiotemporal variations of PM2.5 pollution in China and four great urban areas from 1998…
