    Open Access•Sina Arnold, Juliane Karakayalı•ARTICLE•Zeitschrift für Religion…•2026•References: 11

    Open Access•Sina Arnold, Sebastian Bischoff•ARTICLE•Memory Studies•2023•Cited by: 1•References: 15

In this article, we apply Michael Rothberg’s concept of “multidirectional memory” to an empirical setting, by analyzing qualitative interviews with 124 educators in the field of memory work, such as museum and memorial site employees, teachers, volunteers of non-governmental organizations, and civil society initiatives. We analyzed where they come across memory conflicts and commonality, and what the respective “enabling conditions” were, that is…

  • Anti-Muslim Racism, Post-Migration, and Holocaust Memory: Contours of Antisemitism in Germany Today

    Sina Arnold•ARTICLE•Social research•2021•Cited by: 1

Antisemitism is a continuous and present problem in Germany, as opinion polls, crime statistics, and the experience of Jews show. While the violent attack on a Halle synagogue in 2019 illustrates how anti-Muslim racism and antisemitism are intertwined, in contemporary discourse the two phenomena are often pitted against each other. This is also because current German debates about antisemitism are inevitably linked to migration, and the Israel-Pa…

    Sina Arnold•BOOK•Das unsichtbare Vorurteil.…•2016
