  • Pilot study suggests DNA methylation of the glucocorticoid receptor gene (NR3C1) is associated with MDMA-assisted therapy treatment response for severe PTSD

Open Access•Candace R Lewis, Joseph Tafur et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2023

The findings of this study suggest that therapy-related PTSD symptom improvements may be related to DNA methylation changes in HPA genes and such changes may be greater in those receiving MDMA-assisted therapy. These findings can be used to generate hypothesis driven analyses for future studies with larger cohorts

  • MDMA-assisted therapy for severe PTSD

    Open Access•Jennifer M Mitchell, Michael P Bogenschutz et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Medicine•2021

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) presents a major public health problem for which currently available treatments are modestly effective. We report the findings of a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-site phase 3 clinical trial (NCT03537014) to test the efficacy and safety of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)-assisted therapy for the treatment of patients with severe PTSD, including those with common comorbidities suc…

  • Scaling Up

    Open Access•Julie B Wang, Jessica Lin et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Humanistic Psychology•2021•Cited by: 1•References: 29

Background: Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a debilitating mental health condition associated with serious adverse health outcomes and functional impairment. Previous MDMA–assisted therapy (MDMA-AT) studies have shown promising results in single site studies. Two open-label studies tested this modality in multisite clinical trials to assess the feasibility of scaling this manualized therapy across 14 North American sites. Method: Cotherap…

  • Sustainable graduate employability

Alex Tymon, Charlotte Harrison et al.•ARTICLE•Studies in Higher Education•2020•References: 36

This paper evaluates ‘brand me’ presentations as a method for developing employability-related self-confidence (ERSC). Measurements of ERSC were taken at three points in time from a sample of 105 full-time business and law students at a UK university. These were analysed alongside student feedback, assessment artefacts, and semi-structured interviews with students and lecturers. Findings indicate that ERSC increases over time, skills are learnt, …

  • Comparison of Wallace, Nixon, and Humphrey Supporters along Certain Demographic, Attitudinal, and Value-System Dimensions

    Open Access•James Rawls, James R Rawls et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1973

A 28-item questionnaire and the Rokeach Value Survey were administered to 298 registered voters in 12 Southern states. The questionnaire included (1) background information such as age, marital status, education, family income, church attendance, etc., and (2) attitudinal data such as Hawk-Dove, law and order, integration-segregation issues, etc. In addition, the 18 terminal values of the Rokeach scale were rank-ordered by all Ss. The data were f…
