  • Dynamics of sediment formation in barová cave (Moravian Karst) during the last glacial cycle

Open Access•Lenka Lisá, Martina Roblíčková et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2025

  • With or against the river? Tracing changes and relationships between social and ecological systems on the central Vistula floodplain over the last 200 years

Open Access•Łukasz Sobechowicz, Milena Obremska et al.•ARTICLE•The Anthropocene Review•2025•References: 57

Studying the relationship between humans and their environment is crucial for observing escalating human pressure. This article examines how two distinct rural communities, living side-by-side, coped with environmental crises during the 19th and 20th centuries. Our case study is Kazuń, a 19th-century settlement inhabited by Catholics and Protestants separated only by a lake, an old Vistula riverbed. Our analysis utilizes written archives (includi…

  • Matuyama/Brunhes magnetic reversal recorded in flowstone from the Račiška pečina Cave (Slovenia)

  • Atmospheric circulation and the differentiation of precipitation sources during the Holocene inferred from five stalagmite records from Demänová Cave System (Central Europe)

    Open Access•Helena Hercman, Michał Gąsiorowski et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 8

Five stalagmites from the Demänová Cave System (DCS, Western Carpathians, Slovakia), spanning the period from 13,000 to 500 a BP, were analyzed for their oxygen and carbon stable isotopic composition of the calcite. The isotopic data obtained from several stalagmites located in one cave system allow us to separate the changes of regional/global importance from the local changes. Oxygen isotope ratios point to dynamic changes in the environment at…

  • Isotopic analysis (C, N) and species composition of rodent assemblage as a tool for reconstruction of climate and environment evolution during Late Quaternary

Open Access•Michał Gąsiorowski, Helena Hercman et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2014

  • Environment and climate of the Crimean Mountains during the Late Pleistocene inferred from stable isotope analysis of red deer (Cervus elaphus) bones from the Emine-Bair-Khosar Cave

Michał Gąsiorowski, Helena Hercman et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2014

  • Ancient DNA and dating of cave bear remains from Niedźwiedzia Cave suggest early appearance of Ursus ingressus in Sudetes

Open Access•M Baca, Paweł Mackiewicz et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2014

  • Changes of Water Level in the Eemian Palaeolake at Imbramowice (SW Poland) Based on Isotopic and Cladoceran Data

    Open Access•Joanna Mirosław-Grabowska, Michał Gąsiorowski•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2010

Isotopic and cladoceran investigations of Eemian (MIS 5e) lake sediments from Imbramowice, SW Poland, allow us to reconstruct the environmental conditions, especially changes of water level and trophic status, during the early and middle Eemian Interglaciation. We analyzed the sediments from 6.5 to 11.0 m depth in a core provided by Mamakowa (1989). The upper 6.5 m had insufficient carbonates and cladoceran contents for analyses. The analyzed sec…
