  • Body mass index mediates the association between children's dietary inflammatory index and obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome in children: A cross-sectional study

Open Access•Yi Wen, Jinglan Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background The Children's Dietary Inflammatory Index (C-DII) is associated with elevated body mass index (BMI), a major risk factor for pediatric obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS). However, the interrelationships between pro-inflammatory diets, BMI, and OSAHS severity in children remain unclear. This study aimed to examine the association between C-DII and OSAHS severity and assess whether BMI statistically explained the associati…

In this study, cultivated soil samples were collected from Lhasa, Xigaze, and Shannan to investigate the occurrence of microplastics and heavy metals in farmland soils and their relationships with soil properties…

Open Access•Qin Pei, Yixi Yin et al.•ARTICLE•Critical Public Health•2025

Objectives Transgender women (TW) generally experience poor sleep quality. Multiple studies have demonstrated that personality traits and coping styles influence sleep quality. However, studies targeting TW specifically are limited. Based on the stress mediation model of personality and health, this study examined the relationship between sleep quality, personality traits, and coping styles in TW, as well as tested whether coping styles mediate t…

Open Access•Julan Xiao, Ribo Xiong et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2023

There is a high proportion of antenatal depression among pregnant women in South China, so integrating depression screening into antenatal care services is worthwhile. Maternal and child health care providers need to evaluate pregnancy-related risk factors (perceived stress), socio-demographic factors (educational and professional status), and interpersonal risk factors (marital relations and relationship with Parents-in-law). In future research,…

Our calibrated model reproduces China’s rising financial capital outflows and FDI inflows as well as its massive trade imbalances in recent decades. Our model also predicts that global trade imbalances may be sustainable even i…

It has long been argued in the history of economic thought that over investment through highly leveraged borrowing under elastic credit supply may generate large boombust business cycles. This paper rationalizes this idea in a dynamic general equilibrium model with innitely lived rational agents. It shows that dynamic interactions between strong asset-accumulation motives (based on habit formation on the borrower side) and elastic credit supply (…
