BACKGROUND: The Michigan Model for HealthTM (MMH) is the official health curriculum for the State of Michigan and prevailing policy and practice has encouraged its adoption. Delivering evidence-based programs such as MMH with fidelity is essential to program effectiveness. This paper calls for a radical revolution in Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) grounded in the ideological conviction that racism in education is structural, oppressive to all, and distinctly harming to students, staff, and faculty of color. The Holocaust as Recurring Reality: Victimization Themes and Jewish American Ethnic Identity Formation
Drawing on sociological studies that document the regularity through which marginalized ethnic groups construct an ethnic identity, this article examines identity formation in the Jewish American context. A content analysis of 100 short stories written between 1946 and 1995 demonstrates how victim-oriented identities are created out of the more mundane experiences of everyday life.
