    Michael A Stegman, Roberto G Quercia et al.•ARTICLE•Housing Studies•2007•References: 5

Homeownership is considered an effective wealth creation mechanism for low-income households. This study examines the appreciation of homes purchased with community reinvestment loans in a national pilot in the USA called the Community Advantage Program (CAP). Homes purchased between 1998 and 2002 are found to have appreciated at a median annual rate of 5.4% between the time of purchase and spring 2003. This is less than the national house price …

  • Welsh Bynames on the Allegheny

    Open Access•Walter R Davis•ARTICLE•Names•2001•References: 3

The Welsh have long suffered from an inadequate number of names. This problem was solved in different ways in different communities. In the Welsh settlement in and around Ebensburg, PA, an elaborate, nuanced system of bynames was created, which served to differentiate similarly-named or identically-named individuals. The system which developed here is apparently unique and has not been previously reported. Characteristics of the bynames and their…

  • The FC1 Rule of Identification for Confirmatory Factor Analysis: A General Sufficient Condition

    Open Access•Walter R Davis•ARTICLE•Sociological Methods & Research•1993•Cited by: 6•References: 5

Establishing the identification of a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) model continues to be one of the most difficult tasks in structural equation modeling. Proving the identification of such models algebraically is both error prone and time consuming. Unfortunately, very few general rules of identification exist for CFA models and they are limited to simple models that do not allow for correlated errors. This article presents a new, highly gen…
