The potential of online technologies in meeting PLD needs of rural teachers
In this paper we review the professional learning and development (PLD) needs of teachers in rural and remote schools, focusing on the Australian context. We argue that online PLD is an emerging alternative to face-to-face arrangements for the continuing education of teachers, which can connect to rural contexts through attending to considerations of relevance, collaboration, and future focus. Intermediate care and the housing connection

From client to community
A national study has highlighted the need for regeneration planning to take on board the housing, care and support needs of vulnerable, isolated people with community care needs. Few areas explicitly mapped the needs of vulnerable people or had a community care dimension to their regeneration aims and commissioning plan
The preventative approach
NATIONAL RESEARCH PROMOTING WELL‐BEING: Developing a preventive approach with older people shows housing as a central part of the preventive agenda. Research launched by the Preventative Task Group at the first national prevention conference on 8 June 1999 (an event supported by the Department of Health and the Local Government Association) has shown that housing is a central part of the prevention agenda for older people
