Immersive virtual reality for caregivers of children and adolescents with ADHD: A mixed-methods study of stress reduction, empathy engagement, and quality of life outcomes
Caregivers of children and adolescents with ADHD experience significant psychological and practical burdens. However, existing support interventions often lack experiential and flexible components. This mixed-methods study evaluated the feasibility and within-person changes associated with an immersive virtual reality (VR) intervention in addressing stress, empathy engagement patterns, and perceived quality of life among caregivers of individuals…
Space–Time Prism and Accessibility in Multistate Supernetwork of Multimodal Multiactivity Trip Chains
Space–time prism (STP) is a core concept in time geography and has been widely adopted to analyze an individual’s accessibility for conducting a single flexible activity using a single transport mode. Real-world daily mobility, however, often involves participation in multiple activities through multimodal trip chains. The construction of STPs enveloping such flexible activity-travel patterns has not been addressed in the literature due to the co…
Linking organizational AI adoption to employee knowledge behaviours: The influences of appraisals and locus of control
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been widely recognized as the pivotal force driving the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Its formidable capabilities have prompted a surge in organization adoption. However, there remains a notable lack of research exploring the ramifications of organizational AI adoption within the realm of knowledge management, particularly its impact on employees’ knowledge strategies. To address this gap, this study adopts the tr…
Space–time prism and accessibility in multi-state supernetwork: A lens for locating mobility hubs
There has been increasing research on the design of user-centric mobility hubs to enhance urban connectivity. However, limited studies have addressed the importance of space–time accessibility in the selection of mobility hub locations. This study proposes an optimization model that incorporates monetary budget and hub service area constraints to determine the optimal locations for mobility hubs of varying service levels. The model is grounded on…

Seeing is visiting: Discerning tourists’ behavior from landmarks in ordinary photos
The unprecedented development of the internet has compelled a growing number of tourists to share their photographs on social media. These images convey valuable memories and points of interest. As photography and content sharing have become commonplace among visitors, pictorial digital footprints represent a prevalent topic in tourism research. Studies on tourists’ movement trajectories hold great importance for destination management, marketing…
From Conditional Quantile Regression to Marginal Quantile Estimation with Applications to Missing Data and Causal Inference
It is well known that information on the conditional distribution of an outcome variable given covariates can be used to obtain an enhanced estimate of the marginal outcome distribution. This can be done easily by integrating out the marginal covariate distribution from the conditional outcome distribution. However, to date, no analogy has been established between marginal quantile and conditional quantile regression. This article provides a link…

Location and regionalization patterns of hotel chains: Evidence from China
Hotel chains shape the industry’s development and competition by locating multiple business units in multiple regions. However, how chain hotels are located and regionalized is severely under-researched. A better understanding of hotel chains’ location and regionalization patterns is key to the studies of the hotel industry, which has been increasingly dominated by chains. Six chains from the emerging economy hotel segment in China were selected,…
Efficacy and feasibility of a 12-week Tai Chi training for the prophylaxis of episodic migraine in Hong Kong Chinese women: A randomized controlled trial
Background Tai Chi has been broadly applied as alternative treatment for many neurological and psychological disorders. Whereas no study using Tai Chi as prophylactic treatment for migraine. The purpose of this study was to preliminarily examine the efficacy and feasibility of a 12-week Tai Chi training on migraine attack prevention in a sample of Chinese women. Methods A two-arm randomized controlled trial was designed. Women aged 18 to 65 years…
Detecting Colocation Flow Patterns in the Geographical Interaction Data
The detection of colocation pattern is an important and widely used method to analyze the spatial associations of geographical objects and events. Existing studies primarily focus on discovering colocation patterns and association rules based on point data. A broad range of flow data types, such as population flow, logistics, and information flow, have emerged in recent years. However, colocation patterns and association rules based on flow data …
Nonignorable Missing Data, Single Index Propensity Score and Profile Synthetic Distribution Function
In missing data problems, missing not at random is difficult to handle since the response probability or propensity score is confounded with the outcome data model in the likelihood. Existing works often assume the propensity score is known up to a finite dimensional parameter. We relax this assumption and consider an unspecified single index model for the propensity score. A pseudo-likelihood based on the complete data is constructed by profilin…
Social Capital, Political Efficacy and Chinese Residents’ Willingness to Participate in Food Safety Governance
Residents play an important role as one of the main actors in food safety governance. To build a pattern of food safety risk co-governance, the positive and effective participation of residents is vital. This study first establishes a comprehensive analysis framework combining social capital theory and political efficacy theory. Data from a survey of 714 residents in Shandong Province, China, were analysed through structural equation modelling an…

The Protective Jurisdiction Under the Hong Kong National Security Law: Legitimacy and Impact
The Hong Kong National Security Law is not only applicable in Hong Kong, it has global reach, applying to any breach of its provisions by anyone, regardless of nationality or location. Article 38 of that law expressly states that it is applicable worldwide for offences committed against Hong Kong “from outside the Region by a person who is not a permanent resident of the Region”. Its legal basis is protective jurisdiction, which permits a State t…
Construction of a Territorial Space Classification System Based on Spatiotemporal Heterogeneity of Land Use and Its Superior Territorial Space Functions and Their Dynamic Coupling: Case Study on Qiong…
Territorial space classification (TSC) provides the basis for establishing systems of national territory spatial planning (NTSP) and supervising their implementation in China, thus has important theoretical and application significance. Most of the current TSC research is related to land use/land cover classification, ignoring the connection of the NTSP policies and systems, failing to consider the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of land use superio…
Efficient Augmented Inverse Probability Weighted Estimation in Missing Data Problems
When analyzing data with missing data, a commonly used method is the inverse probability weighting (IPW) method, which reweights estimating equations with propensity scores. The popularity of the IPW method is due to its simplicity. However, it is often being criticized for being inefficient because most of the information from the incomplete observations is not used. Alternatively, the regression method is known to be efficient but is nonrobust …
The Influence of Internet Use on Interpersonal Interaction among Chinese Urban Residents: The Mediating Effect of Social Identification
The instability of social norms on the Internet causes the diversity of social identification. Meanwhile, the anonymity of online social identity and the chaos of the role-playing among the interacting participants cause an ambiguity of identity recognition, which intensifies anxiety about interpersonal interaction. Methods that promote face-to-face interpersonal interaction through the reconstruction of the identification to the social system an…
