  • Altered Functional Connectivity of Striatum Based on the Integrated Connectivity Model in First-Episode Schizophrenia

Open Access•Bei Zhang, Pan Lin et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2019

Background: The human striatum is a heterogeneous structure involved in diverse functional domains that related to distinct striatum subregions. Striatal dysfunction was thought to be a fundamental element in schizophrenia. However, the connectivity pattern of striatum solely based on functional or structural characteristics leads to inconsistent findings in healthy adult and also schizophrenia. This study aims to develop an integrated striatal m…

  • Functional Connectivity Density, Local Brain Spontaneous Activity, and Their Coupling Strengths in Patients With Borderline Personality Disorder

Open Access•Xiaoxia Lei, Yunjie Liao et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2018

In this study, combining degree centrality (DC) and fractional amplitude of low frequency fluctuation (fALFF) analyses of resting state (rs)-functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data, we aimed to explore functional connectivity density, local brain spontaneous activity, and their coupling strengths in borderline personality disorder (BPD). Forty-three BPD patients and 39 demographically-matched controls underwent rs-fMRI after completing …

  • From culture to symptom

    Open Access•Xiaolu Zhou, Yunshi Peng et al.•ARTICLE•Transcultural Psychiatry•2016•Citada por: 4•Referencias: 28

Chinese somatization" has been frequently discussed over the past three decades of cultural psychiatry, and has more recently been demonstrated in cross-national comparisons. Empirical studies of potential explanations are lacking, however. Ryder and Chentsova-Dutton (2012) proposed that Chinese somatization can be understood as a cultural script for depression, noting that the literature is divided on whether this script primarily involves felt …

  • Self‐Perceived Competence in Mainland China

    Open Access•Joseph R Cohen, Dana M Sheshko et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Research on Adolescence•2014•Referencias: 3

The present 9‐wave, 2‐year study examined whether Cole's (1991) theory of self‐perceived competence could help explain vulnerability to depressive and anxiety symptoms in a sample of adolescents from mainland China. Participants included 624 adolescents (319 females and 305 males) from an urban school in Changsha ( n = 308) and from a rural school in Liuyang ( n = 316). Findings showed that self‐perceived academic competence was negatively associ…

  • The Impact of Rumination and Stressful Life Events on Depressive Symptoms in High School Students

Juan Yang, Chenchen Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2010

  • The cultural shaping of depression

Andrew G Ryder, Jian Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Abnormal Psychology•2008

The expectation that Chinese people present distress somatically is a central prediction of cultural psychopathology and has been the subject of considerable theoretical speculation. At the same time, empirical studies have been infrequent and have yielded mixed results. The authors examined symptom presentation in Chinese (n=175) and Euro-Canadian (n=107) outpatients, using spontaneous problem report, structured clinical interview, and symptom q…
