  • Health-related quality of life in elderly, multimorbid individuals with and without depression and/or mild cognitive impairment using a telemonitoring application

Open Access•Caroline Lang, Martin Rössler et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2021

Depression and/or MCI are negatively associated with the HRQoL of elderly, multimorbid people using a TMA. Engagement of individuals with vital data measurements via a TMA may increase their mental HRQoL. Mentally impaired people should be closely involved as co-designers and experts in development processes of TMAs to benefit from tailored solutions. An individual's increased mental HRQoL can be a decisive factor in their engagement with a GP tr…

  • The Manage Care Model – Developing an Evidence-Based and Expert-Driven Chronic Care Management Model for Patients with Diabetes

Open Access•Patrick Timpel, Caroline Lang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020•References: 8

The MANAGE CARE MODEL provides guidance for the development and implementation of chronic care programs, regional networks and national strategies. Future research is needed to validate the model as an instrument of regional chronic care management

  • Individualising Chronic Care Management by Analysing Patients’ Needs – A Mixed Method Approach

    Open Access•Patrick Timpel, Caroline Lang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2017•Cited by: 1•References: 4

The study uncovered competing demands which are not limited to medical conditions. The findings emphasise that future care models need to focus stronger on individual patient needs and promote their active involvement in co-design and implementation. Future research is needed to develop new chronic care models providing evidence-based and practical implications for the regional care setting

  • Preliminary outcomes of the development of an Active Ageing with Type 2 Diabetes Chronic Care Management Model in Europe

Open Access•George Dafoulas, Caroline Lang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2015

Ιntroduction: A growing number of EU citizens suffer from diabetes, posing an increasing health, social and economic burden. This burden is mostly driven by type 2 diabetes (T2DM), which is leading to a rapidly growing group of ‘older people’ (65+) with diabetes. An increase in the average life expectancy adds to this accrued number of elderly living with T2DM, experiencing a number of associated comorbidities. Management of this large group pose…

  • Gazelle behaviour and human presence at early Neolithic Göbekli Tepe, south-east Anatolia

Caroline Lang, Joris Peters et al.•ARTICLE•World Archaeology•2013•Cited by: 11•References: 31

With its impressive megalithic architecture dating to the tenth to ninth millennium cal. bc, the site of Göbekli Tepe (south-east Anatolia) is singular in the cultural history of mankind. Excavations at this ritual centre produced a rich archaeofaunal assemblage dominated by skeletal remains of Persian gazelle (Gazella subgutturosa). In order to trace relevant features of this species' behaviour in early Neolithic times relating to its dietary de…
