Advancing a theory of change in a collaborative teacher education program innovation through universal design for learning
This design-based research (DBR) investigates the redesign of a 13-month interdisciplinary teacher preparation program to co-prepare secondary and special education teacher candidates to plan and implement evidence-based practices to meet content and literacy needs of all learners within secondary classrooms. The Theory of Change explores mechanisms for change under the umbrella of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The UDL framework can suppor…
Neutron Tomographic Assessment of Incisions on Prehistoric Stone Slabs
This study presents the application of neutron tomography to the analysis of ironstone slabs found in a late Earlier Stone Age context (Fauresmith industry) at the back of Wonderwerk Cave, Northern Cape Province, South Africa. These slabs have markings on the surface that might be anthropogenic, and thus significant to understanding the emergence of human symbolic behaviour. Neutron tomography proved to be an effective tool for distinguishing sur…
A literature and medicine special study module run by academics in general practice
This paper describes the design, delivery and evaluation of a nine week special study module on literature and medicine for third year undergraduate medical students, by tutors from an academic department of general practice. Three weeks of taught seminars are followed by three weeks of one on one meetings between individual students and tutors, leading to a seminar led by, and based on, materials prepared by the student. The final three weeks of…

Development of a Scale to Measure Psychosocial Reaction Associated With the Approachability of Family Practice Consultations
The paper reports the development of a 17 item questionnaire to measure the approachability of family practice consultations. Approachability is selectively taken to be a function of the ability to make an appointment and as a perception of whether the family doctor is open and approachable. One hundred and six users of family practice services, were approached on an opportunity basis and completed the questionnaire. Factor analysis and reliabili…

Correspondence analysis of the analytical riata showed that the Clzine.se glazes, though different from that of Englkh specimens, could not be dzferentiated. The analysis of the body material ena…

Archaeology and Development [and Comments and Reply]
The establisment of a national site survey in the Solomon Islands provides a case study of the way in which the discipline of archaeology, developed in highly industrialised, wealthy countries, must be adapted if it is to prove meaningful in other parts of the world. Such changes are not only organisational and logistical; they extend to the conceptual basis of archaeology and to the relationship of the discipline to society. Specifically discuss…
