  • A new 14 C sample treatment laboratory at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Lublin, PL

    Open Access•Katarzyna Burdzy, I Hajdas et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2026

The accuracy and precision of radiocarbon dating largely depend on the quality of sample preparation prior to measurement. Proper selection of material, identification of potential contaminants, and application of appropriate purification procedures are the basis of reliable 14 C analyses. Modern preparation laboratories not only support the process of obtaining reliable results but also play a key role in integrating the scientific community and…

  • Palaeoecological record of long Eemian series from Kozłów (Central Poland) with reference to palaeoclimatic and palaeohydrological interpretation

Open Access•Magdalena Suchora, Kamil Kultys et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2022

  • Responses of a shallow temperate lake ecosystem to major late-Holocene terrestrial vegetation shifts

    Open Access•Krzysztof Pleskot, Magdalena Suchora et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2022•Citada por: 3•Referencias: 9

Major terrestrial vegetation shifts (MTVSs) resulting from either human activities or natural processes can exert substantial pressure on lakes mainly through impacts on catchment biogeochemical cycles and groundwater circulation. To better understand the links between terrestrial vegetation dynamics and lake ecosystem structure and functions over long temporal scales, in this study, we reconstructed the responses of shallow Lake Spore (N Poland)…

  • Lake and inland dunes as interconnected Systems

    Open Access•Christian Stolz, Magdalena Suchora et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2020•Referencias: 6

The specific aim of the study was to investigate how four adjacent geomorphological systems – a lake, a dune field, a small alluvial fan and a slope system – responded to the same impacts. Lake Tresssee is a shallow lake in the North of Germany (Schleswig-Holstein). During the Holocene, the lake’s water surface declined drastically, predominately as a consequence of human impact. The adjacent inland dune field shows several traces of former sand …

  • Response of terrestrial and lake environments in NE Poland to Preboreal cold oscillations (PBO)

Open Access•Magdalena Fiłoc, Mirosława Kupryjanowicz et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2018

  • Environmental changes related to the 8.2-ka event and other climate fluctuations during the middle Holocene

    Open Access•Magdalena Fiłoc, Mirosława Kupryjanowicz et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2017•Referencias: 19

Multi-proxy palaeoecological data (pollen, diatom, Cladocera) about the environment during the middle-Holocene from Suchar II and Suchar Wielki, dystrophic lakes, in NE Poland are presented. Fluctuations in the pollen concentration, indicative of changes in pollen productivity and shifts in woodland composition, document the considerable instability of the climate in NE Poland between 9200 and 5750 cal. yr BP. The recognised colder events were da…
