  • Rural Healthcare in Colonial Bengal: The Role, Responsibilities, and Restraints of Union Boards, 1920s–1930s

M Roy, Murari Mohan Roy•ARTICLE•The Journal of Imperial &…•2025•References: 5

  • Le Discours d'une didactique: La Formation littéraire dans l'enseignement classique au Québec (1852-1967)

    Varda Furman, J Melançon et al.•ARTICLE•Poetics Today•1993

  • Genetic differentiation among the three Hindu low caste groups of Malda district, West Bengal, India

    Open Access•Sanghita Banerjee, M K Das et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•1992•Cited by: 1•References: 1

Three descendants of Koch, Indo-Mongolid populations, have been studied for their 12 genetic markers of blood group, red cell enzyme and serum protein. Distribution of their phenotype and allele frequencies shows some variants apart from their common alleles. Analysis on genetic material reveals very low differentiation coefficient (GST) value for the total population, and in the distance measure the Poliya and the Tiyor stand close to each other…

  • Genetic distance and gene diversity among ten endogamous groups in Chhattisgarh, Central India

Open Access•M Roy, Michelle Elezabeth Roy et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•1990•References: 1

A genetic survey has been conducted among the Rawats and Telis, two endogamous caste populations of Chhattisgarh, Central India. Using the gene frequency data for three genetic loci, genetic distance among ten population groups have been calculated. The gene differentiation among these population groups is only about 2 per cent

  • Genetic heterogeneity and population structure in eastern India: Red cell enzyme variability in ten Assamese populations

    B N Mukherjee, K C Malhotra et al.•ARTICLE•Zeitschrift für Morphologie und…•1989

This paper is a part of the genetic study of the people of Assam (eastern India), initiated by the Anthropometry and Human Genetics Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, India, and the Dept. of Human Biology/Physical Anthropology, University of Bremen, W. Germany. The results of 1. allele distribution of five red cell enzyme polymorphisms in ten Assamese populations, 2. heterogeneity of allele frequencies and extent of gene differentiatio…

  • Immunoglobulin (Gm and Km) allotypes in nine endogamous groups of West Bengal, India

Open Access•R Chakraborty, Hubert Walter et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Human Biology•1987

Blood samples from 898 individuals of nine endogamous groups of West Bengal, India were typed for determining the haplotypic structure in the gamma-light chain (Gm) and kappa-light chain (Km) of immunoglobulin (IgG). The Gm haplotype frequencies detected by Glm (1), Glm (2) and G3m (5) markers suggest that in this eastern state of India there is considerable variation of frequencies of the typical Mongoloid haplotype Gm1,5, which shows a high inc…

  • Gene differentiation among ten endogamous groups of West Bengal, India

Open Access•Ranajit Chakraborty, Hubert Walter et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1986•Cited by: 3•References: 12

Ten endogamous populations of West Bengal, India have been surveyed for genetic variation in 12 systems. These populations encompass all social ranks in the caste hierarchy and cover almost the entire geographic area of the state. Gene diversity analysis suggests that these groups exhibit significant allele frequency variation at all but three loci. The overall genetic difference is not, however, in accord with the classification based on caste. …
