  • Performance assessment of the Micadas system at Henan University, China

Open Access•Yafei Wei, Min Ran et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2026

A 200 kV Mini Carbon Dating System (MICADAS) was installed and has been in operation since June of 2023 at Henan University (HENU-AMS). The laboratory (namely HENU-AMS Laboratory) is equipped with an Automated Graphitization Equipment (AGE3), a Carbonate Handling System (CHS2), and a Gas Ion Source Interface System (GIS). The MICADAS can measure both graphite and CO 2 samples. The system was firstly tested on the international reference materials…

  • A pollen-based reconstruction of middle to late holocene precipitation dynamics in Anyang archaeological area, Central Plains, China

Open Access•Songna Wang, Xiaodong Miao et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2024

  • Flood events in the lower reaches of the Yellow River: OSL and radiocarbon dating on the Anshang site

Open Access•Songna Wang, Xiaodong Miao et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2024

  • Mineralogy of the core YRD-1101 of the Yellow River Delta: Implications for sediment origin and environmental evolution during the last ~1.9Myr

Open Access•Jian Liu, Junqiang Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2020

  • Evidence for an abrupt climatic reversal during the Last Interglacial on the northeast Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau

    Open Access•Huayu Lu, J Vandenberghe et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2006

  • Loess record of dry climate and aeolian activity in the early-to mid-Holocene, central Great Plains, North America

    Open Access•Xiaodong Miao, Joseph Mason et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2005•Cited by: 4•References: 4

Thick Holocene Bignell Loess sections provide new evidence for the timing of early to middle Holocene aridity in the central Great Plains. The immediate source of loess in these sections was dune fields just upwind, based on thickness trends and grain size data. Thus, periods of rapid loess accumulation indicate episodes of extensive dune activity under drier-than-present climate. In typical Bignell Loess sections, a thick zone of coarse-textured…

  • Sources and paleoclimatic significance of Holocene Bignell Loess, central Great Plains, USA

Open Access•Joseph A Mason, Peter Martin Jacobs et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2003

This paper reexamines the stratigraphy, sources, and paleoclimatic significance of Holocene Bignell Loess in the central Great Plains. A broadly similar sequence of loess depositional units and paleosols was observed in thick Bignell Loess sections up to 300 km apart, suggesting that these sections record major regional changes in the balance between dust deposition and pedogenesis. New optical ages, together with previously reported radiocarbon …
