  • Ma Xing Shi Gan Decoction reduces influenza A virus nucleoprotein levels in association with modulation of lactate–HMGB1 lactylation and autophagosome accumulation

Open Access•Yongkuan Ji, Hui Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2026

MXSG reducing NP levels is associated with modulation of expression levels of glycolytic enzymes and reduced lactate production, and was accompanied by decreases in HMGB1 lactylation with expression and HMGB1-associated autophagosome accumulation providing a potential metabolic basis for MXSG-associated regulation of autophagy-related processes. These findings suggest a possible association between metabolic-autophagy signaling and MXSG-associate…

  • Dynamic Optimization for Emergency Supplies Distribution with Priority of Postdisaster Shelters

Yanfang Ma, Lina Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Natural Hazards Review•2025

Every year, disasters such as earthquake, flood, and typhoon cause millions of victims. Delivering emergency supplies (including food and medicine, etc.) to shelters in time is critical to ensure that victims receive the necessary support and assistance. Given the instable environment after disasters, the location and priority information of shelters are constantly changing. Therefore, this paper presents a dynamic emergency supplies distribution…

  • Ma Xing Shi Gan Decoction alleviates lipopolysaccharide-induced pneumonia by inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation via AMPK/mTOR/ULK1-mediated autophagy

Open Access•Chen Su, Su Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2025

MXSG activates the AMPK/mTOR/ULK1 pathway, promoting autophagy and inhibiting excessive NLRP3 inflammasome activation induced by LPS. This subsequently reduces inflammatory cytokine (IL-1β, IL-18) levels, thereby mitigating LPS-triggered lung inflammation. The primary active compounds of MXSG that promote autophagy are amygdalin, licoricesaponin G2, and daidzein. These findings offer fresh perspectives on how MXSG mitigates pneumonia, highlightin…

  • Projections of climate change and its impacts based on CMIP6 models—calling attention to quantifying and constraining uncertainty

Open Access•Qin Zhang, Shujie Cheng et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2025

Accurately projecting climate change and its impact is crucial for quantifying the risk of extreme events and developing effective adaptation strategies. However, future projections exhibit substantial uncertainties among Earth system models (ESMs). Notably, the latest phase of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project includes some ‘hot’ ESMs with high climate sensitivity that exceed the likely range inferred from multiple lines of evidence, lea…

  • Global, regional, and national trends in maternal hemorrhage, 1992–2021: A hierarchical cluster and age-period-cohort analysis of the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 and projections to 2036

Open Access•Peiwan Fang, Tao Sun et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Although global MH burden has decreased, substantial disparities persist across regions and age groups. Targeted public health efforts are needed, particularly in Europe, East Asia, parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, and among women aged 20-29, to further mitigate the impact of MH

  • Co-benefits in carbon reduction from freight mode shifts under China’s ‘Clean Air Action’

Open Access•Lina Liu, Yifan Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2024

China’s air pollution mitigation policy promotes the shift of bulk cargo transportation from roadways to railways and waterways, which might also influence carbon emissions. In this study, we developed a novel emissions assessment framework encompassing three truck types, rail, and waterways at the provincial level. Using counterfactual scenarios during the ‘Clean Air Action’ (2013–2020), we quantitatively examined the co-benefits of freight mode…

  • Levels of antibodies to Sars-CoV-2 at key time points during the Covid-19 pandemic in China

Open Access•Lina Liu, Liu Lina et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is a worldwide public health problem that has occurred in recent years. SARS-COV-2 is found mainly in the respiratory secretions of patients infected with COVID-19. These infected patients are also the main source of transmission, which occurs primarily through the respiratory tract [1]. When the virus enters the trachea, the mucosal cells…

  • How to Achieve Carbon Neutrality: From the Perspective of Innovative City Pilot Policy in China

Open Access•Lina Liu, Yunyun Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

The innovative city pilot policy is a new engine to accelerate the social development of China, which is an important support feature for realizing sustainable economic development. Using the city pilot policy issued by the Chinese government in 2008 as a quasi-natural experiment and the method of multi-period difference-in-differences (DID) model, we explore the effect of the policy on regional carbon emission efficiency. The research shows that…

  • Network analysis: A cross-country comparison of peer attention among EU countries in response to China with the media data

    Lina Liu•ARTICLE•Journal of Contemporary European…•2022•References: 21

Peer attention is a significant feature in the horizontal cross-loading of EU countries when there are many uncertainties in the decision-making. Taking the case of the 28-EU countries’ interactive media attention during China’s second Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) forum in April 2019, this paper explores the two questions of who pays attention to whose action to the BRI, and what are the determinants of the peer attentions? The measurements fro…
