An efficacy-linked strategy for the quality evaluation of traditional medicine
Mapping Higher Education Research in Malaysia and Singapore (2014–2024)
Higher education plays a pivotal role in driving social and economic development in Southeast Asia; however, systematic evidence on regional research patterns remains limited. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of higher education research in Malaysia and Singapore from 2014 to 2024, focussing on three policy-relevant themes: digital learning, internationalisation, and graduate employability. Drawing on 8,339 Scopus-indexed publications …
Cultural context and instructional structure in children's music education
Despite neuroscientific evidence indicating that music training remodels brain structure, behavioral findings concerning its transfer effects on children's executive functions (EF) remain characterized by significant controversy and heterogeneity. To resolve this ambiguity, this study strictly adhered to PRISMA guidelines, conducting a comprehensive systematic search across three major databases (Scopus, Web of Science, and PsycINFO). We synthesi…
A Study on the Silk Road Cultural Consciousness in Hong Ke’s The Tree of Life
Hong Ke’s novel The Tree of Life roots in the Midwest of China but looks to the whole world. By tracing the homology of human life, it reflects the process of collision, interaction and integration between different cultures along the Silk Road. The plots and scenes spanning time and space in the novel fully reflect the close similarity, distinctive difference, and harmonious coexistence of the Silk Road cultures. The rational understanding of th…
Inductive Link Prediction via Interactive Learning Across Relations in Multiplex Networks
Network embedding is an important class of link prediction methods, which can use the distance between learned low-dimensional node representations to characterize the similarity between nodes. Traditional network embedding methods focus on single-layer networks, while in reality, a large part of complex networks are not isolated, but interdependent and interrelated, forming multiplex complex networks. Also, how to effectively exploit layer corre…
What drives reputational risk? Evidence from textual risk disclosures in financial statements
The drivers of reputational risk are still far from explicit, making proactive risk management and quantitative research rather difficult. The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision encourages financial institutions to systematically identify reputational risk drivers; however, such drivers still represent an unsolved problem. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to systemically identify reputational risk drivers from textual risk disclosure…
Runoff Estimation of Jiulong River Based on Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler Online Monitoring Data and Its Implication for Pollutant Flux Estimation
The runoff of the Jiulong River (JLR) is a key parameter that affects the estimation of pollutant flux into Xiamen Bay (XMB). The precise runoff estimation of the JLR can be used to determine the accuracy of the pollutant flux estimation flowing into XMB. In this study, to analyze the hydrological dynamic characteristics and identify the correlation between fixed-site real-time ocean current observations and cross-sectional navigation flow observ…
Can environmental regulation promote urban innovation in the underdeveloped coastal regions of western China
Reduced quantity and quality of SOM along a thaw sequence on the Tibetan Plateau
Carbon (C) release from thawing permafrost is potentially the largest climate feedback from terrestrial ecosystems. However, the magnitude of this feedback remains highly uncertain, partly due to the limited understanding of how abrupt permafrost thaw (e.g. permafrost collapse) alters soil organic matter (SOM) quality. Here we employed elemental analysis, stable isotope analysis, biomarker and nuclear magnetic resonance techniques to explore chan…
A biomarker record of temperature and phytoplankton community structure in the Okinawa Trough since the last glacial maximum
A variety of biomarkers were examined from Ocean Drilling Program Core 1202B to reconstruct temperature and phytoplankton community structures in the southern Okinawa Trough since 20 ka. Two molecular temperature proxies ( $${\rm U}_{{37}}^{{{\rm K}\prime}} $$ and TEX 86 ) show 5°C to ~6°C warming during the glacial-interglacial transition. Prior to the Holocene, the $${\rm U}_{{37}}^{{{\rm K}\prime}} $$ -derived temperature was generally 1 ° C t…
