  • Economic viability of Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (Bipv) in composite-climate public buildings

Open Access•Jai Prakash, Venu Shree•ARTICLE•Energy for Sustainable Development•2026

  • Salt-Tolerant Compatible Microbial Inoculants Modulate Physio-Biochemical Responses Enhance Plant Growth, Zn Biofortification and Yield of Wheat Grown in Saline-Sodic Soil

Open Access•Udai B Singh, Deepti Malviya et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

A wide range of root-associated mutualistic microorganisms have been successfully applied and documented in the past for growth promotion, biofertilization, biofortification and biotic and abiotic stress amelioration in major crops. These microorganisms include nitrogen fixers, nutrient mobilizers, bio-remediators and bio-control agents. The present study aimed to demonstrate the impact of salt-tolerant compatible microbial inoculants on plant gr…

  • A multianalytical approach to evaluate the association of 55 SNPs in 28 genes with obesity risk in N orth I ndian adults

Open Access•A N Srivastava, Apurva Srivastava et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Human Biology•2017

Objectives The aim of the study was to investigate the association of 55 SNPs in 28 genes with obesity risk in a North Indian population using a multianalytical approach. Methods Overall, 480 subjects from the North Indian population were studied using strict inclusion/exclusion criteria. SNP Genotyping was carried out by Sequenom Mass ARRAY platform (Sequenom, San Diego, CA) and validated Taqman ® allelic discrimination (Applied Biosystems ® ). …

  • Quantitative genetics of circulating Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and its correlation with hand osteoarthritis and obesity-related phenotypes in a community-based sample

Open Access•Jai Prakash, Gulzhan Gabdulina et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Human Biology•2017

This is the first study to report heritability estimates of HA variation and its correlation with obesity-related phenotypes, ADP and RHOA. However, the nature of genetic effects on HA and its correlation with other study phenotypes require further clarification

  • Quantitative genetic analysis of the body composition and blood pressure association in two ethnically diverse populations

Open Access•Sudipta Ghosh, Tasbulat Dosaev et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•2017•Cited by: 4•References: 35

OBJECTIVES: The major aim of this study was to conduct comparative quantitative-genetic analysis of the body composition (BCP) and somatotype (STP) variation, as well as their correlations with blood pressure (BP) in two ethnically, culturally and geographically different populations: Santhal, indigenous ethnic group from India and Chuvash, indigenous population from Russia. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Correspondently two pedigree-based samples were c…

  • Association of FTO and IRX3 genetic variants to obesity risk in north India

Open Access•A N Srivastava, Apurva Srivastava et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Human Biology•2015

This is the first study to reveal that genetic variants of both FTO and IRX3 genes are in high linkage disequilibrium (LD) and are associated with obesity risk in North Indians

  • Analysis of MC4R rs17782313, Pomc rs1042571, Apoe- Hha1 and AGRP rs3412352 genetic variants with susceptibility to obesity risk in North Indians

Open Access•A N Srivastava, Apurva Srivastava et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Human Biology•2015

The best interaction model for predicting obesity risk by MDR analysis was the three factor model including POMC (C > T), MC4R (T > C) and APOE (Hha1) polymorphisms. Genetic variants in MC4R, POMC and APOE genes might play significant roles in predisposing obesity (BMI ≥ 30 kg/m(2)) in the North Indian population

  • Contribution of body composition components and soft‐tissue biochemical factors to genetic variation of body mass index (BMI) in an ethnically homogeneous population

Open Access•Tasbulat Dosaev, Jai Prakash et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Human Biology•2014

This study clearly suggests that FM and FFM contributed almost equally to BMI variation, and provides evidence that this contribution is caused by common genetic as well as shared environmental and metabolic factors

  • Association of PPAR ‐γ gene polymorphisms with obesity and obesity‐associated phenotypes in north indian population

Open Access•Jai Prakash, Neena Srivastava et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Human Biology•2012

OBJECTIVES: The worldwide increasing prevalence of obesity is considered as a major health problem. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ) controls adipocyte differentiation and regulates a number of genes associated with energy homeostasis. In this study, we investigated the association of PPAR-γ gene Pro12Ala (rs1801282) and C1431T (rs3856806) polymorphisms with morbid obesity and related phenotypes, in north Indian populatio…

  • Association of FTO rs17817449 SNP with obesity and associated physiological parameters in a north Indian population

Open Access•Jai Prakash, Neena Srivastava et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Human Biology•2011

This study replicated the genetic association of SNP of FTO (rs17817449) with obesity in a north Indian population and, to the authors' knowledge; this is the first such association study in a north Indian population. This study also established that SNP in intron 1 of FTO (rs17817449) are strongly associated with several measures of adiposity and are also associated with plasma insulin, insulin resistance, percentage body fat and fat mass

  • Effect of garlic (Allium sativum) on lipid peroxidation in experimental myocardial infarction in rats

    Open Access•Ganapathy Saravanan, Jai Prakash•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2004

  • Chemopreventive activity of Ocimum sanctum seed oil

    Open Access•Jai Prakash, S K Gupta et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2000

  • Quantitative genetic analysis of the body composition and blood pressure association in two ethnically diverse populations
