Mixed teaching quality evaluation of organizational behavior course based on Cipp model
Introduction The implementation of blended learning helps overcome the limitations of traditional “chalk-and-talk” didactic teaching and unidirectional passive learning, demonstrating significant value in cultivating students’ problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and enhancing instructional quality. However, there remains a lack of systematic evaluation frameworks for assessing blended learning quality in discipline-specific courses (e.g., …
Evolving Innovation Ecosystems: Longitudinal Insights into the Triple Helix Model and Enterprise Innovation in China
Innovation is a crucial pathway for China’s modernization and sustainable development. To gain a deeper understanding of China’s innovation system, this study uses Chinese national statistical data from 2001 to 2022, adopts time series analysis and employs the triple helix model to explore the specific mechanisms and relative impacts of the interactions among universities, industries, and the government. The primary focus of the analysis is on th…
Investigation on structure, evaporation, and desiccation cracking of soil with straw biochar
To investigate the cracking behavior in the evaporation process of the soil surface with biochar as an additive, five experimental groups were established in the natural environment with 0, 12, 60, 120, and 170 g·kg −1 biochar. The results of an investigation on organic matter and aggregations indicate that a high content of biochar can significantly improve the content of organic matter and the amount of soil aggregates. After adding 60 and 170 …
Evaporation and cracked soda soil improved by fly ash from recycled materials
The osmotic pressure of a soil solution increases due to soil salinization and the stability and sustainability of the soil becomes poor, which will affect the movement of water in soil. In this study, the evaporation capacity and desiccation cracking characteristics of soda soil samples with different content (5, 10, 15, 20, and 25% by weight) of fly ash were investigated. After drying, the unconsumed water content of soil increased from 8.55 to…

A Pictorial Autobiography by Zeng Jifen (1852-1942) and the Use of the “Exemplary” in China’s Modern Transformation
Zeng Jifen (1852-1942), a daughter of the distinguished Qing official Zeng Guofan (1811-72), incorporated rich visual materials into her self-edited nianpu or chronological autobiography (1931; 1933) for the purpose of modelling the “ancients’ practice of incorporating pictures and texts concurrently.” The effect was a pictorial autobiography that launched a social critique through an exemplary life story and the art of “praise and blame” inhere…
Heroines of the Qing: Exemplary Women Tell Their Stories
Heroines of the Qing introduces an array of Chinese women from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries who were powerful, active subjects of their own lives and who wrote themselves as the heroines of their exemplary stories. Traditionally, “exemplary women” ( lienu )—heroic martyrs, chaste widows, and faithful maidens, for example—were written into official dynastic histories for their unrelenting adherence to female virtue by Confucian family s…

Guardians of Family Health in Qing China: From the Exemplary Wife to the Reformer
This article examines women’s role as the guardian of family health during the Qing period to uncover a neglected aspect of their transformation into the New Woman of the early twentieth century. Although medicine as a form of specialized knowledge has seldom been related to the tradition of women’s learning, my case studies suggest that gentry women during the Qing period routinely resorted to medical texts to regulate family health. This aspect…
Disruptive Voices: Three Cases of Outspoken “Exemplary Women” from Nineteenth-Century China
While historical records in China abound in accounts of “exemplary women,” little is known of what was lying beneath the unflinching moral stance with which these women tackled all the vicissitudes of life to bring glories to their families and lineages. This study is an attempt to approach the lives of these women from the angle of their own life-writings—in particular, their bieji (personal collections). The three cases examined in this study e…
