Making Fire or Woodworking? Bone Artefacts from Djedkare’s Necropolis, South Saqqara (Egypt)
The paper discusses animal bone artefacts from the archaeological excavation in the area between the pyramid complexes of Pharaoh Djedkare’s and Queen Setibhor (5th dynasty, mid-3rd millennium BCE) at Djedkare’s Necropolis in South Saqqara, Egypt. Eight artefacts made from cattle (Bos taurus) astragali (talus bones) come from a large waste deposit layer, which provides evidence of long-term cultic activities associated with the funerary cults of …

A Note on an Incised Inscription from Djedkare’s Pyramid Complex
During the documentation of Djedkare’s pyramid complex at south Saqqara, a block with an incised inscription was uncovered, containing the titles and names of two Old Kingdom officials. The date of the inscription is unknown, but the titles of the two individuals indicate that they may have been connected to the construction of royal monuments and their provision

This paper focuses on new evidence from the tomb of princess Sheretnebty at Abusir South, which was uncovered during the 2012 and 2013 archaeological seasons. Three individuals are attested by names on finds from this tomb, including the statuette of Iti and an offering table and a decorated block of Ankhiemaptah and his wife Neferhekenhathor. The article discusses evidence uncovered by the mission of the Czech Institute of Egyptology, Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague at the necropolis of Abusir near Egypt’s capital Cairo. The tomb of Shepespuptah Idu was one of the four rock-cut tombs in the tomb complex of Princess Sheretnebty in Abusir South. It was uncovered in 2012 and its exploration continued until 2013.
