Chronopraktyki kobiecości
Artykuł analizuje sposoby organizowania doświadczenia czasu poprzez praktyki troski o ciało obecne w polskiej prasie kobiecej przełomu tysiąclecia. Punktem wyjścia jest kategoria chronopraktyk, odnosząca się do społecznie wytwarzanych rytmów organizujących codzienne praktyki pielęgnacyjne. Analizie poddano reklamy i wybrane materiały promocyjne opublikowane w latach 2000–2004 w magazynach adresowanych przede wszystkim do kobiet klasy średniej i a…
Foodways and Memory
This article explores how the contemporary Polish inhabitants of Dąbrowa Białostocka remember town’s former Jewish community through the lens of foodways. The author endeavours to show how Polish agricultural policy including the implementation of EU agricultural regulations force farmers to function in the grey economy. This in turn forms a (largely) politically muted group of people who are alienated not only from what they produce but …

The main food idioms are linked with the idea of „our” food, food which is local, familiar and familial, and the notions based on the connection with a certain region (terroir), along with with its history, peo…

Podlaski „Słoik” – mobilna grupa społeczna i mobilne medium tożsamości lokalnej
Artykuł dotyczy migrantów z podlaskich wsi wyjeżdżających do dużych miast polskich w poszukiwaniu wykształcenia i pracy zwanych potocznie mianem „Słoiki”.
