Open Access•Milena Teska, Martin Kuča et al.•ARTICLE•Praehistorische Zeitschrift•2024

The collection of archaeological finds from Lesonice provides a unique evidence for contacts between the Late La Tène environment in the Middle Danube region and the territory of south-eastern Poland. Problematic circumstances of finding and atypical localisation do not allow to clearly determine the find context. The article therefore discusses both possibilities – burial and hoard/offering. The assemblage of finds can be dated to stage LTD1 or …

Ginalski‐type E5 button spurs made from a Cu alloy are a characteristic attribute of the Middle Roman period in barbarian Europe. The find of part of a mould made of non‐ferrous metal at the Luleč site in the district of Vyškov, Czech Republic, provided key evidence for explaining the issue of their production. The discovery of this unique artefact showed that based on current knowledge, the spurs made from a Cu alloy were also produced in the Mi…

In 2017, a luxury bronze bucket was discovered near Kladina village in the Czech Republic. The bucket is dated to the ninth century BCE, and it is a unique artefact, having no parallel in Europe. Detailed palynological analysis of verdigris and soil infill of the bucket identified a wide range …

  • Hrob nebo depot

V k. ú. Jevíčko-Předměstí došlo v blízkosti zaniklých úvozových cest k objevu štítové puklice a dvou hrotů kopí datovaných do období okolo markomanských válek. Předměty byly do země uloženy nenáhodně, bez zřetelných stop aktivit, které by situaci mohly jednoznačně interpretovat; určité indicie přináší snad pouze pozitivní fosfátová analýza. Uvažovat můžeme o neobvyklých funerálních aktivitách, depotu, či obětině, s největší pravděpodobností s vaz…
