В статье представлены результаты комплексного исследования материалов погр. 2 памятника Усть-Алейка-5 в Верхнем Приобье. В 1982 г. было обнаружено вертикальное захоронение ребенка с богатым сопроводительным инвентарем (каменные артефакты, украшения из кости и зубов млекопитающих, раковины двустворчатых моллюсков рода Unio). Burial of a Stone Age Child With Signs of Extraordinary Burial Practice From the Ust-Aleika‐5 (Barnaul Stretch of the Ob)
The burial of a child of early childhood from the middle to the end of the 4th millennium BC from the Ust-Aleyka‐5 burial ground is considered to be so-called «atypical», having signsof an extraordinary burial practice. The reason for the specificity and large number of accompanying inventory and burial rites of the buried person could be his pathology (macrocephaly, probably caused by hydrocephalus). We present the findings of a multidisciplinary study of burial 2 at Ust-Aleyka-5 on the Upper Ob. In 1982, an upright burial of a child with abundant funerary offerings (lithic artifacts, ornaments made of bones and teeth of mammals, shells of Unio bivalves) was unearthed. We focus on a find unique in the region—the shell of a sea snail Tritia nitida, a gastropod, which, at present, lives in the Mediterranean, Black, and Azov seas. The Raman spec…
Manuscript Maps of Siberia by Captive Captain Tabbert (von Strahlenberg)
Based on the analysis of published documents and materials, the article examines the history of the creation of three versions of maps of the Siberia, made in 1713–1718 in Tobolsk by а captive captain of the Swedish army Philip Johann Tabbert (von Strahlenberg). He is known primarily as the author of the map of Great Tataria, published in 1730. His cartographic works from the period of Siberian captivity have not previously been the subject of a …
