Lithic “Hoard” from the Neolithic Layer at the Lenkovka Multilayered Site (Based on Field Research in 1936)
This article presents previously unpublished research results from the Neolithic layer of the multilayered Lenkovka site, excavated in 1936. The site was located on the right bank of the Angara River, at the mouth of the eponymous ravine. By now, it has been completely destroyed by wave activity of the Bratsk Reservoir. The site was discovered by the Angara Archaeological Expedition led by A.P. Okladnikov in 1934 and was excavated in 1936 and 196…

Interpretation of the Alluvial Floodplain Accumulation
This paper examines characteristic features of floodplain accumulation at geoarchaeological site Ostrov Listvenichnyi, located on the Angara River at the same-name island (Northeast Angara region, Baikal Siberia). The problems of interpretation of topographic and lithological data, island architecture, glacial and postglacial natural climatic insights (MIS 2–MIS 1) are also touched upon. The accumulation of sediments at a series of 16 archaeologi…

Fishing in the Early Holocene Human Ecosystem of the Northern Angara Region
Archaeological excavations in the flood zone of the Boguchany hydroelectric plant in 2007-20I2 have resulted in importantfindings relevant to the study ofprehistoric fishing in the northern Angara basin, and to the chronology of its initial stages. Evidence offishing was recorded at the Early Holocene layers of Ostrov Listvenichny (points I and 2), Ust-Yodarma II, Ust-Keul I, Ust-Igirma, Ust-Kova I, and Vorobyevo. Such evidence is scarce at the l…
