From organizational reputation to prosocial impact
This study examines how public employees perceive organizational reputation and its influence on their work experiences. Drawing on cognitive appraisal theory, Study 1 uses an experimental design to investigate how organizational reputation fosters organizational pride, while Study 2 employs a time-lagged approach to assess the impact of reputation on prosocial impact through organizational pride, with perceived organizational support as a modera…
Does the welfare regime impact the telework gender stress gap
After decades of slow diffusion, the acceptance of telework has dramatically accelerated during the pandemic crisis, becoming a mainstream work practice. However, little is still known on the impact of telework design on employee stress, particularly when stress is high due to a major health crisis, at a time when it is crucial that organizations help buffer it. Using the welfare regime literature, we study the effects of telework demands/resourc…

Doing “male” diversity research in France
Purpose – Little is known qualitatively about how men become involved in diversity research. The purpose of this paper is to address a part of the gap in this type of research. Design/methodology/approach – The paper provides a self-reflective account of how the author became involved in diversity work. Findings – The author argues that “doing diversity” can be said to reflect an implicit “tempered radical” (Meyerson and Scully, 1995) approach wh…
Understanding 'individualization' in human resource management
'Individualization' in personnel practices has long been considered as an essential component of 'modern' human resources management, but the empirical complexities of its definition, implementation and impact within firms have not been analysed in considerable depth. This paper adds to this analysis by reporting on research into one form of individualization - 'skill-based pay' - adopted in different sectors in France. The crucial institutional …
