Perceptions of Cooking Education among High School Students
Cooking is a basic life skill and promotes a more healthful diet. However, many young adults lack cooking confidence. Eleven focus groups with 71 total participants were conducted to understand perceptions of cooking education among high school students. The objective of this study was to explore the first‐time pregnant couples’ perception of the father's role in relation to a pregnant woman's food and activity behavior during pregnancy. Eleven first‐time pregnant, cohabitating couples across the United States completed a one‐on‐one semi‐structured phone interview for the study. The purpose of this study was to determine whether weight bias exhibited by health care professionals (HCPs) impacts quality of health care provided to individuals with obesity. Fathers (n = 149) of preschool children were interviewed using the Child Feeding, Role of the Father (ROF), and ROF at Mealtimes (ROFM) questionnaires to determine whether fathers' demographic characteristics are associated with child overweight. Low-income was associated with higher pressure to eat (p = .006) and perceived their child as higher weight (p = .001).
