To obtain information regarding the responses to stress and the degree of stress experienced by pregnant adolescents, a sample of 120 pregnant adolescents was given three measures of stress: the State TraitAnxiety Inventory (STAI), the Sources of Stress Inventory, and the Pregnant Adolescent/Adolescent Mother Stress Measure. Sexuality, Pregnancy, and Motherhood among Mexican-American Adolescents
The perspectives of 32 Mexican-American and 17 White adolescent females are presented regarding: (a) their romantic and sexual relation ships; (b) sex education and birth control; and (c) reactions to their pregnancy and motherhood. Mexican-American adolescents indicated notably less sexual experience than their White counterparts with the father of the baby generally being their only sexual partner. Informal Support Networks of Hispanic Mothers: A Comparison Across Age Groups
One hundred eighty-five pregnant and postpartum Hispanic mothers completed anonymous questionnaires regarding the composition, extent, and quality of their support networks. Mothers were found to provide the most support for the younger English-speaking respondents (12-20 years of age) and husbands for the older English-speaking respondents and all age groups in the Spanish-speaking subsample. A Study of the Interaction of Hispanic Junior High School Students and Their Teachers
Forty Hispanic junior high school girls divided into target and comparison subsamples were matched with target and comparison teacher subsamples to form student-teacher dyads. Dyad members simultaneously recorded their own and each other's behavior on a 41-item behavioral checklist.
