The Impact of Intraclass Correlation on the Effectiveness of Level-Specific Fit Indices in Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling
Several researchers have recommended that level-specific fit indices should be applied to detect the lack of model fit at any level in multilevel structural equation models. Although we concur with their view, we note that these studies did not sufficiently consider the impact of intraclass correlation (ICC) on the performance of level-specific fit indices. Our study proposed to fill this gap in the methodological literature. A Monte Carlo study …
Executive compensation in nonprofit organizations
The purpose of this paper is to model the determinants of executive compensation of school district superintendents using structural equation models (SEM). These chief executives have unique characteristics and function in a complex environment, due in part to the political nature of the position. SEM has not been used widely to test archival data using economic theory. The complex environment of superintendent salaries is a test case for the via…
Further Support for the Developmental Significance of the Quality of the Teacher–Student Relationship
A Comparison of Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children Reliability for Mexican-Americans and Non-Hispanic Whites
Reliability estimates were calculated for the Mexican-American and non-Hispanic White standardization samples at eleven age levels on the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children using computed variance components. These estimates were compared as ratios of error variances and evaluated using F distributions. Ratios for the two groups at all age levels proved to be nonsignificant, indicative of statistically equivalent reliabilities for the two gr…
