  • Immunoglobulin Allotypes among Taiwan Aborigines

Moses S Schanfield, Koji Ohkura et al.•ARTICLE•Human Biology•2002•Cited by: 1

The aborigines of Taiwan represent the indigenous inhabitants of the island at the time of the arrival of the Chinese from the mainland. Linguistically, the aboriginal Taiwanese are related to the Malayo-Polynesian-speaking inhabitants of Indonesia and the Philippines. Three tribes occupied lowland areas while six tribes occupied highland areas. Previous studies indicate that genetic markers associated with malaria occur in lowland populations. T…

  • The distribution of Gc subtypes among the Mongoloid populations

Open Access•Hideo Matsumoto, Kiyoshi Matsui et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1980•Cited by: 9•References: 13

The polymorphism of Gc (group‐specific components) has been investigated for a series of 3,160 individual samples from 11 Mongoloid populations in Asia and North and South America by isoelectric focusing on polyacrylamide gels. The samples fall into six Gc phenotypes which can be explained by the three common alleles, Gc 1F , Gc 1S , and Gc 2 , together with several variant phenotypes explained as the heterozygotes for the three common alleles. T…
