The moral-behavioral feedback loop
Moral disengagement has traditionally been conceptualized as an antecedent of behavior, yet emerging perspectives suggest these constructs may be mutually reinforcing. This three-wave longitudinal study examined the bidirectional associations between moral disengagement and online altruistic behavior among Chinese college students (N = 651; 55.1% male; Mage = 20.13 years) over a one-year period with six-month intervals. Cross-lagged panel modelin…

Beyond simple transmission
In the context of intensifying academic competition and evolving family dynamics, parental educational anxiety has emerged as a salient yet understudied influence on adolescents’ academic behavior. Associations between overprotective parenting style and academic anxiety among Chinese high school students
The findings of this study indicate that overprotective parenting style increases the risk of academic anxiety among Chinese high school students. However, this effect is partially mediated by students' self-concept and positive coping style. Therefore, schools and educational policymakers should consider the interrelationships and interactions when designing intervention strategies for adolescents' academic anxiety and psychological disorders. T…
How parental educational anxiety fuels adolescent depression
These findings highlight a complex chain of cognitive and emotional mechanisms linking parental educational anxiety to adolescent depressive symptoms. Moral disengagement and negative coping style operate as sequential mediators, while psychological resilience serves as a buffering factor. Although causal interpretations are limited by the cross-sectional design, the results underscore the importance of addressing both family-based pressures and …

Forensic appraisal of death due to acute alcohol poisoning
Death due to acute alcohol poisoning lacks specific anatomical characteristics, compared with other deaths due to drug poisoning. We report three forensic cases of death from acute alcohol poisoning due to inhibition of the respiratory centre and eventual asphyxia. Blood alcohol concentrations in the three fatalities were 5.28, 3.33 and 3.78 mg/mL, respectively. Lethal doses and blood alcohol concentrations showed differences between individuals.…
