  • Lived experience of spontaneous preterm birth following spontaneous preterm labor

Open Access•Elizabeth Gargon, Anya Roberts et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2026

This study centralizes the caregiver perspective, which is imperative to improving maternal outcomes. Caregivers' experiences (particularly of neonatal outcomes such as length of NICU stay) are integral to shaping maternal HRQoL. Increased awareness of sPTL signs and symptoms, and enhanced sPTL management strategies, are needed to improve both maternal and neonatal outcomes

  • An evaluation of lifestart, a universal home-based parenting programme in Ireland aimed at improving parent and child outcomes

Open Access•Sarah Miller, Laura Dunne et al.•ARTICLE•Irish Educational Studies•2024

This five-year randomised controlled trial explored the impact of the Lifestart home visiting parenting programme, on parent and child development outcomes. The Lifestart Programme is a universal and structured child-centred programme of information and practical activity for parents of children aged from birth to five years of age. In total, 424 parents and children participated, and outcomes were measured at pre-test (child age < 12 months), mi…

  • Do meta-emotion strategies and their effects vary in students between their family home and their university home

Open Access•Warren Mansell, Annabelle Barnes et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2022

Different meta-emotion strategies are often categorised as either adaptive (e.g. compassionate care) or maladaptive (e.g. suppression). Yet some evidence indicates that the same strategy can be adaptive in one culture and maladaptive in another. We aimed to test whether meta-emotion strategies and their effects can in fact vary across different social contexts within the same individuals. A total of 140 students completed measures of meta-emotion…

  • Collective Reputations Affect Donations to Nonprofits

Open Access•Laura Grant, Laura E Grant et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Policy Analysis and…•2015•Cited by: 5•References: 8

Maintaining their organization's reputation is an important challenge for nonprofit managers. Organizations are often linked via a common reputation within their industry or sector such that publicity about one organization can spill over to affect how stakeholders view its peers. The linkages of common reputations may be particularly pronounced among nonprofits because important dimensions of their quality are difficult to observe directly. In t…

  • Social Determinants of Breast Cancer Screening in Urban Primary Care Practices

    Open Access•Shiraz I Mishra, Bruce R Deforge et al.•ARTICLE•Women s Health Issues•2012

  • Does Daylight Saving Time Save Energy? Evidence from a Natural Experiment in Indiana

Matthew J Kotchen, Laura Grant et al.•ARTICLE•The Review of Economics and…•2011

We take advantage of a natural experiment in the state of Indiana to estimate the effect of daylight saving time (DST) on residential electricity consumption. Our main finding is that, contrary to the policy's intent, DST increases electricity demand. The findings are consistent with simulation results that identify a trade-off between reducing demand for lighting and increasing demand for heating and cooling. We estimate a cost to Indiana househ…
