    본 연구는 미·중 5G 기술 경쟁의 배경과 정치·경제적 함의를 분석하고, 이에 대한 EU 국가들의 대응을 검토한다. 5G 기술은 단순한 산업적 사안을 넘어 국가 안보, 경제적 이익, 국제질서의 재편과 직결된 핵심 기술로, 미·중 간 기술 패권 경쟁의 중심에 자리 잡고 있다. 미국은 화웨이와 ZTE를 국가 안보 위협으로 간주하고 동맹국들에 배제를 요구하고 있으며, 중국은 디지털 실크로드 전략을 통해 글로벌 5G 네트워크 확장을 추진하고 있다. 이에 따라 미·중 간 기술민족주의(Techno-Nationalism)와 경제안보(Economic Security) 등의 논리가 충돌하면서 5G 기술 주도권을 둘러싼 경쟁이 심화되고 있다.
