  • Short-term effects of exercise therapy on pulmonary function and exercise tolerance in patients with mild to moderate adolescent idiopathic scoliosis

Open Access•Yongqi Xie, Shaodong Xie et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Sports and Active…•2026

Objective This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effects of exercise therapy on pulmonary function and exercise tolerance in patients with mild to moderate adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). Methods We systematically searched PubMed, Embase, Medline, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library from inception to April 1st, 2025. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) enrolling participants with mild to moderate AIS (Cobb angle 10–40°). Dat…

  • Time is shrinking in the eye of AI

Open Access•Yuanyuan Jamie Li, Shan Lin et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Consumer Psychology•2025•References: 5

Agents help consumers make decisions. While agents have traditionally been human (e.g., sales associate, real estate agent, financial advisor), artificial intelligence (AI) agents are becoming more prevalent. We find that the type of agent, AI versus human, has an influence on intertemporal judgment. Specifically, when an agent is identified as AI, the concept of fast processing becomes more accessible, which makes time delays seem subjectively l…

  • Commentaries and Rejoinder on

Han Gong, Douglas L Medin et al.•ARTICLE•Social Psychology•2014•Cited by: 1

In the hope to resolve the two sets of opposing results concerning the effects of psychological distance and construal levels on moral judgment, Žeželj and Jokić (2014) conducted a series of four direct replications, which yielded divergent patterns of results. In our commentary, we first revisit the consistent findings that lower-level construals induced by How/Why manipulation lead to harsher moral condemnation than higher-level construals. We …

  • The Minimal Deviation Effect

Yunhui Huang, Han Gong et al.•Cited by: 1•References: 69

The present research introduces the minimal deviation effect. We propose that numbers that are slightly above a numerical category boundary (e.g., 1,001 in comparison to 1,000), representing a salient violation of coherent numerical categories, are arousal-inducing, and that the heightened arousal can be misattributed to the incentive value of the focal product, thus increasing consumers’ wanting but not liking. Results from nine experiments prov…
