As the World Ages: Attaining a Harmonious Future World Through Intergenerational Connections
This paper recognizes the intergenerational conflicts that can emerge as older and younger persons compete for scarce resources. It then proposes that intergenerational relationships can not only promote intergenerational solidarity but also they may mitigate against five beliefs or "dangerous ideas" proposed by Roy and Judith Eidelson that lead to global violence and conflict: superiority, injustice, vulnerability, distrust, and helplessness.
