  • Reciprocal relationships between future time perspective and self-control among adolescents in China: A longitudinal study

Open Access•Haiping Hao, Xiaobao Li et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2024

  • Low socioeconomic status and academic achievement: A moderated mediation model of future time perspective and chinese cultural beliefs about adversity

Open Access•Xiaobao Li, Xinyue Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2024

  • Reciprocal relations between future time perspective and academic achievement among adolescents: A four‐wave longitudinal study

Open Access•Haiping Hao, Xiaobao Li et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Adolescence•2024

INTRODUCTION: Adolescents' academic achievement is closely associated with their future time perspective. However, the reciprocal nature of this relationship remains ambiguous due to a lack of longitudinal studies. This study investigated the developmental trajectories of future time perspective and academic achievement among adolescents, as well as reciprocal relations between future time perspective and academic achievement. METHODS: = 14.48, S…

  • Reciprocal longitudinal relations between self‐efficacy and coping style: The explanatory mechanism of future self‐continuity

Open Access•Yu PI, Yuyang Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Adolescence•2024

BACKGROUND: It has been demonstrated that self-efficacy and coping styles are related. However, whether there is a reciprocal longitudinal relation between self-efficacy and coping styles needs to be examined. In this longitudinal study, we tested the reciprocal impacts of self-efficacy and coping styles, taking into account the role of future self-continuity (FSC) in these effects. METHODS: = 21.20). Three waves of questionnaire data were collec…

  • Future Self-Continuity Predicts Health-Promoting Behaviors of Chinese Rural College Students: Evidence from Mental Imagery Intervention

Xu Gao, Xiaobao Li et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Psychology•2024

The purpose of this research is to investigate the prediction effect of future self-continuity (FSC) on health-promoting behaviors (Health Responsibility, Physical Activity, and Nutritional Habits) and the impact of urban-rural differences in Chinese college students, further verifying the effect of mental imagery practice on enhancing FSC and promoting health-promoting behaviors among students from rural areas. Study 1 used the Future Self-Conti…

  • Individual and collective temporal self-evaluation: Evidence from behavior and ERP

Feng Zhang, Yu PI et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2024

  • Psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory

Open Access•Xiaobao Li, Chen Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2023

  • Social class and subjective well-being in Chinese adults: The mediating role of present fatalistic time perspective

Open Access•Gang Du, Houchao Lyu et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2022

  • Development of a measure quantifying helpful psychotherapy interventions: The Helpful Therapeutic Attitudes and Interventions Scale

Open Access•Xiaobao Li, Hong Gu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2022

The HTAIS allows an immediate examination, as experienced by the client, of the extent to which certain useful therapeutics interventions have been conducted during therapy and could help to improve the clinician's subsequent therapy strategies. Future research is suggested to further validate the scale, especially to assess its psychometric properties in various populations with different clinical complaints

  • Development of self-concept clarity from ages 11 to 24: Latent growth models of Chinese adolescents

Guangcan Xiang, Qingqing Li et al.•ARTICLE•Self and Identity•2022

This study examined the growth trajectory of self-concept clarity (SCC) and explored the influence of this trajectory on the development of life satisfaction (LS) and positive affect (PA) among Chinese adolescents (N = 2001, 56.97% females). Results of latent growth models showed no significant mean-level change of SCC across three waves in a year. However, significant inter-individual variability was presented in the developmental patterns of SC…

  • Trait self-control and disinhibited eating in Covid-19: The mediating role of perceived mortality threat and negative affect

Open Access•Qingqing Li, Guangcan Xiang et al.•ARTICLE•Appetite•2021•Cited by: 3•References: 56

  • Thirty Years of Research: Interpretations of the Equal Sign in China and the USA

Open Access•Robert M Capraro, Mary Margaret Capraro et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•2007

This study examined students' conceptions about the equal sign in light of historical findings with an international comparison group. Textbooks for preparation of students as mathematics teachers were examined. Participants were sixth-grade students from the USA (n = 105) and China (n = 145). About 98% of the Chinese children correctly answered all items by providing conceptually accurate explanations, but only 28% of the U.S. sample did. Textbo…
