Is there a virtuous cycle between wages and productivity? Turkish experience after the transition to democracy
Regional Convergence or Polarization
We analyse growth patterns of the Russian federal subjects, and test if all regions converge to a common growth path, or if there are many convergence clubs by using the data on regional GDP per capita for the 1996–2017 period. Determinants of subcontracting and regional development
Taymaz E. and Kiliçaslan Y. (2005) Determinants of subcontracting and regional development: an empirical study on Turkish textile and engineering industries, Regional Studies 39 , 633–645. Recent studies on small‐ and medium‐sized establishments emphasize the importance of networking and regional clusters for (regional) industrial development. This study is focused on an important form of cooperation between firms: the subcontracting relationship…
Privatization, Ownership and Technical Efficiency a Study of the Turkish Cement Industry
This paper presents an empirical study of the effects of ownership and privatization on technical efficiency in the Turkish cement industry. We first summarize the characteristics of the Turkish cement industry and changes in industrial structure in the post‐privatization period. The effects of ownership and privatization on technical efficiency are estimated using the stochastic production frontier approach. The empirical tests presented, which …
