  • Natufian in the North

    Y Nishiaki, Yoshihiro A Nishiaki et al.•ARTICLE•Paléorient•2017•Cited by: 6•References: 6

This paper discusses the relationship between Late Epipaleolithic evidence recovered at Dederiyeh Cave in Northwest Syria and the Natufian cultural entity from a cultural-historical perspective. The radiocarbon dates indicate that Dederiyeh occupation dates from at least the late 15th and the 14th millennia BP, with the possibility that it encompasses even earlier or later periods. The present study identifies evidence from the Dederiyeh Cave as …

  • Obsidian Knappers at the Late PPNB “Consumer” Settlement of Tell Seker Al-Aheimar Northeast Syria

  • A Unique Neolithic Female Figurine from Tell Seker al-Aheimar, Northeast Syria

    Y Nishiaki, Yoshihiro A Nishiaki•ARTICLE•Paléorient•2007•Cited by: 3

  • The oldest pottery Neolithic of Upper Mesopotamia

    Y Nishiaki, Yoshihiro A Nishiaki et al.•ARTICLE•Paléorient•2005•Cited by: 18•References: 2

The oldest Pottery Neolithic of Upper Mesopotamia, including the Khabur basin, has long been believed to be represented by the Proto-Hassuna (Sotto-Umm Dabaghiyah) entity. Recent excavations at Tell Seker al-Aheimar, on the upper Khabur, produced new evidence that questions this view. The excavations revealed that a Pottery Neolithic phase predating the Proto-Hassuna existed on the Khabur, characterized by a distinct set of pottery as well as arc…

  • Neanderthal infant burial from the Dederiyeh cave in Syria

Takeru Akazawa, Sultan Muhesen et al.•ARTICLE•Paléorient•1995•Cited by: 34•References: 6

  • Preliminary results of the prehistoric survey in the Khabur Basin, Syria

    Y Nishiaki, Yoshihiro A Nishiaki•ARTICLE•Paléorient•1992•Cited by: 4•References: 2
