The History of the Peoples of the Eastern Desert
The last quarter century has seen extensive research on the ports of the Red Sea coast of Egypt, the road systems connecting them to the Nile, and the mines and quarries in the region. Missing has been a systematic study of the peoples of the Eastern Desert—the area between the Red Sea and the Nile Valley—in whose territories these ports, roads, mines, and quarries were located. The historical overview of the Eastern Desert in the shape of a rough…
More Seals and Sealings from Neolithic Tell Sabi Abyad, Syria
Recent excavations at Tell Sabi Abyad in northern Syria yielded a number of stone stamp seals and clay sealings from well-stratified Neolithic contexts, dating c. 6300–6000 BC. This report presents the new finds and relates them to the prehistoric seals and many hundreds of sealings previously found at the site.
Chemical analyses of sealing clays and the use of administrative artefacts at Late Neolithic Tell Sabi Abyad (Syria)
Of storage and nomads. The sealings from Late Neolithic, Sabi Abyad, Syria
