Interest Rate Changes and Borrower Search Behavior: An Experimental Replication with Extensions
This study replicates Lukas and Nöth’s (2019. Interest Rate Changes and Borrower Search Behavior.” Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization 163 (July): 172–89.) analysis of borrower behavior in response to interest rate changes, focusing on consumer decisions to seek alternative mortgage offers. Decision-making under risk conditions in television knowledge competition
This study investigates risk-taking behavior among contestants on the TV show Do You Want to Be a Millionaire?, contributing to a literature that has largely focused on Western European and North American contexts. To reduce the influence of contestants’ factual knowledge on observed choices, the analysis focuses on decisions made immediately after the use of the 50/50 lifeline, where the decision environment more closely resembles a binary risky…
Facial characteristics and electoral success: Evidence from the Czech Senate elections
This study examines the impact of physical characteristics, specifically facial symmetry and facial width‐to‐height ratio, on the electoral success of political candidates ( N = 167) in the 2022 Czech Senate elections. These facial metrics are used as objective indicators of facial structure, offering a novel approach in the political context. Candidate data were analyzed using Poisson regression models, revealing significant associations between…

The main objective of this paper is to investigate the possibility of developing a glass jaw over the course of a fighter's career, and whether certain fighters are more predisposed to experiencing knockouts. Utilizing data from the la…
Experimental Verification of Barro-Ricardo Equivalence Theorem
The aim of this study is to verify the validity of Barro-Ricardo equivalence in Czech conditions with the help of experimental methods. Ricardian equivalence, in which case consumers postpone consumption under lower taxation, is a basic assumption of many studies dealing with intertemporal decision making and has important implications for government tax policy. Using nonparametric methods and panel data regression, we find that Ricardian equival…
