Comparing Innovative ‘Chosen Training’ with ‘Standard Training’ in Czechia: How Did the New Program Help

We examine the outcomes and targeting using counterfactual impact evaluation (quasi‐experimental design) of the apprenticeship program on the basis of administrative data from the Czech Employment Office. The implementation strategy is analyzed using various policy documents. The findings indica…
Analysis of the Start-up Subsidy for Unemployed in the Czech Republic
The article aims to analyse the effects of the start-up subsidy programme for unemployed in the Czech Republic, which is provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. We explored to what extent participants in the programme in 2014 returned to unemployment three years after the end of the programme, i.e., 2014-2017. Methodologically, we conducted counterfactual impact analysis, where we matched participants in the programme with those wh…
Diversity of youth policy regimes and early job insecurity – towards an integrated approach
Surprisingly, there is limited knowledge about how policies at national level have shaped specific ‘youth policy packages’. We discuss what might be the distinctive features of ‘youth employment/school-to-work transition regimes’ when exploring the interactions between four public policy fields: education, active employment policies, employment protection legislation and unemployment income protection. Our specific contribution is an attempt to i…
