This article examines how James Alderson blew the whistle on the fraudulent Medicare practices of one of America largest hospital conglomerates, Columbia/HCA, and its former subsidiary, Quorum. Also discussed is how Alderson maintained his ethical autonomy in the face of organizational conformity.
